I'm having breakfast at Narita airport right now.
It's kind of been a long time since I visited Germany last time.
I can't wait to go there!

There are so many things I want to tell you now, but I'll do it during the show.
Because that is all I can do.



I'll be leaving now too, have to catch my train. I might check back during my time in Wacken, as I have internet-access in the press-area...but I won't make any promises. I will be back home some time on sunday, probably during the afternoon.

I'm home.

Geebus, I'm such a nerd. I'm tired as hell but still the first thing I do when I get home is turning on the comp.

Okay...Giru.

The show was...AWESOME! But muuuuuuch too short. And I met them the afternoon before the show (they played at 9:30p.m.)...OMG, they are so sweet! I had Ryo and Shuu in the interview...I'm gonna type it up as soon as it's gone on air.

So much to tell...I'll post more when I've had some sleep. So big report still on it's way.

Okay...one night of sleep in my own bed and I feel human again.

I had been at the W:O:A since thursday afternoon. The interview had been confirmed before that...but my contact never sent me a message...which made my quite nervous. So on friday I called Gan-Shin, asking what was going on...Mannix (press-coordinator and my main contact at Gan-Shin) said he was sorry and that he'd see to it right away.

I waited for hours...called him again. He said he had trouble reaching anybody...they weren't answering the phone. Well...I waited again...hours later another guy called me...and he wasn't too friendly, guess he had a bad day. But at least he provided me with a phone-number.

The guy I had to contact now is called Masa...a japanese guy who's been living in Germany for years...and he was travelling with Giru and was responsible for coordinating press and such. He was really nice on the phone...I caught him the moment they arrived in Wacken. He told me we'd do the interview on Saturday...as they had just arrived and Friday was their day off. I still didn't have a time, though...we agreed on me calling him again the next day.

I did so...and we agreed on 7 p.m. for the interview...he asked me to text him before that time though...to remind him *giggles*

So I texted him at 5 p.m. and he replied almost instantly...we sent messsages back and forth discussing the details...and around 6 p.m. he sudenly called me, asking: "Are you available? Do you have time in ten minutes? I'll meet you in the presstent and I'll bring three of the guys."

Whoa...NOW I got nervous.

In the end he only brought Ryo and Shuu...but it was fine with me, I'm used to having two bandmembers when I do interviews...I very seldomly get the whole band.

I must say...they really are sweet and awesome to talk to. Though Ryo isn't the most talkative person...Shuu on the other hand was talking without end. XD

I thought is most awesome, how they see themselves as a band. Shuu told me they don't see themselves as a huge successful band or something...they're just four friends who enjoy doing music. And they origunally never planned to be in a band...it just happened naturally with those for hanging out together.

Some random facts:

- Ryo has a dog
- Shuu had a fish once...but it died and he hasn't had any pets ever since
- If Ryo was an animal, he'd like to be a cat
- Shuu and Nii are friends since school

Both Shuu and Ryo asked us if we'd be at the gig...and they begged us to stay till the end and not leave early because of the Nightwish-show...I thought that was effing cute. I got to take pictures...first with Shuu and Ryo only...but later I caught the whole band, so I also have a large group-pic with everybody...but I'm not sure I'm allowed to post them...photo-policy and stuff.

So later we went to see the show...even though we arrived pretty late, we managed to get to first/second row. Right in front of Shuu. We were a group of five people cheering...the rest of the audience was rather silent...until the intro came up. Everybody cheered as the four came onstage, kicking off instantly. They wore their black suits with cloth covering their lower face at first...but they ripped it off immediately, when the first song started.

I don't remember all of the songs they played...I remeber Shadan and two new songs towards the end of the show.
They left after playing six songs...but returned for an enchore...sadly it was only one song, after that they left the stage for good.

I'm curious for the new album...Ryo said it will be different. He said it still will be undeniably Girugamesh...they are not changing their style, but they are progressing with each album. He said we should always remain curious for new releases.

Haha...in the end it wasn't so hard to choose. When Nightwish started, Giru were already finished...and with the new vocalist Nightwish isn't that interesting to me anymore...I miss Tarja, her voice was unique.

I've already seen pictures from Wacken float around the net...so I decided it won't hurt to upload some myself...but in very small quality and with a huge disclaimer...I hope you don't mind.

That was directly after the interview...both ShuU and Яyo had been smoking through all of the interview (see the cig in ShuU's hand?)...and I longed for a cigarette SO much...but I had none...T_T

Yay! Group-pic with all four of them! I managed to catch them after the interview with Evil Elvis and they were kind enough to pose with us. There might be more versions of this pic, as even the official photographer of Giru took several variations of it! And there was another photographer who took it as well...

Btw, the other girl in the pics (the one with the blue-ish bangs) is my best friend and assistant Snowy. And I just noticed...Shuu is standing next to me in both pics...O_o And he's SO tall! I think he's even a little taller than me...

Yeah, I'm used to it...and I know it too. I'm lucky to be able to meet so many awesome people...and most of it happened over the last two years...since I started journalism.

The edited version of the interview will go on air on August 27th, after that I'll post up a full length transcript of the interview, so y'all can read their words for yourself.

Ah...in that pic Evil Elvis was singing some notes of an old Elvis-song...it was hilarious! And I agree, Ryo is just SO cute.

Hey, it's Nii.

I had so much fun in Wacken!
And I could see everyone in Germany after a long time.
Wacken Open Air is the fes I had always wanted to play at,
so I felt very honored to perform there with my favosite bands.
We'll try to keep playing good music to receive an offer from them again!

Wacken is the best!
We'll definitely be back!

Hello everyone in the world!
We just came back from W:O:A.

This was our very first time to perform at huge festival,
so I was kind of nervous, but also so excited.

At the venue, people of all generations like from little kids to old guys doing sign of the horns.
I love that atmosphere!

We enjoyed the show a lot although we had some troubles on the stage.
And one of the things I was so glad was I could see some Japanese flags at the arena!

I wanna come back next year!
And I really wanna go on a world tour!!

I feel incredibly happy that we could perform at the huge fes we had never experienced.

We saw the fire works during our show.
It remains fresh in my mind. That was so touching!

And those of you who came to see our stage, thank you for your support!
The mosh pit was awesome!

I really wanna go back, so when the time comes, let's enjoy together!!!!!

Hey, it's Яyo.
We came back to Japan safely~.

Well, I had so much fun in Wacken!
As you may know, so many troubles happened there, but I'm sure the show was nice.
I learned a lot of things.

The day before the show, I visited the venue with Nii and eveyone talked to us, lol.


Now, we are about to do photoshooting!
How come Japan is so hot and humid...



I know what Ryo is talking about...weather over here is hot and humid at the moment too...and I HATE it.

I know that the news about their new album has been mentioned before, but there's more info on it. I'm excited

Girugamesh album and tour dates

Girugamesh has finally announced on their OHP the release of their new album! The title has not yet been decided, but it will be released on November 5th in two types.

The first press edition will cost 4725 yen and come with a CD and DVD. The CD will contain nine tracks, and the DVD contains sixty minutes worth of footage! On the DVD is footage from their shining tour ‘08 「SHOOTING SUMMER」 lives that took place at LIQUID ROOM, Osaka nave and Nagoya Heartland. There will also be footage from their Wacken live, and behind the scenes clips.

The regular press will cost 3150 yen and will contain twelve tracks.

That one seems like a pretty hard decision. The DVD sounds great for fans, but at the same time three extra tracks is also an awesome bonus.

Along wth the release of their new album they’ll be having a CRAZY TOUR 08-09 which will cover forty-seven places around the country! Details are as follows.

Hi, it's Nii.

The final show of the tour just finished and fortunately, all tickets were sold out.
Thank you for your support, I had so much fun!
This time, each member had a time to talk on stage, and a video was showed, that was quite interesting.

And our next tour was announced.
We'll have a show in every single prefecture in Japan!
I'll definitely enjoy it.

Oh, and our new album.
We'll make a great one, so wait a little bit!
