i know a lot of people probably do go eat at buffets
for asian people, it's most likely the place you go for large special occasions
like birthday party or something

(no offense)but i notice that a LOT of American people (white people) talk about how buffets are for
fat people and they're always like, "go look at the size of the people at buffets"
it seems so harsh and i tend to feel guilty sometimes bc i definitely DO go eat at buffets


so i was wondering, does anybody you know say the same thing?
or is it just what people say where i live?
do you go to buffets often? ever feel guilty?

I love buffets! I go at least once every two months. In the San Francisco Bay Area, the bufet industry is booming. YOu can eat at a really good place that has good sushi, desserts, drinks, and all that hot Chinese good for less than ten dollars while one plate of food at Denny's costs about the same. The value is so much better at buffets because you can eat all you want. Its important not to eat too much or go overboard. If you eat too much, you leave feeling sick and the entire thing isn't worth it if you just end up throwing it all up...

buffet's can be a good deal... plenty of good food for your money~
but, in my, well..more like my family's case, its a waste of money for us bcos we eat so little.
we get full from 1 or 2 plates, that we dont see the point of going to buffets.

I don't go to buffets much because I eat very little and personally I think the buffets around my place here are pretty low on quality. It's definitely not worth the money. As for your question though, no, I don't think that buffets are for fat people, it's just for people that have a big appetite.

i use to go a lot.. maybe once a week *plus my mom works at one* bakc then, and since i was pretty cheap back then.. i wanted to eat my money's worth. that always results with something bad. id get so full that i could barely walk plus id gain weight like mad. so..buffets are bad news i probably go to one every 1-2months nowadays.

i think i go to buffets maybe 3 times a year? everyone in my family is average or slim so none of us feel guilty about going to buffets. the adults usually load up on seafood and sushi (I guess to get their money's worth?) and us kids will load up on pretty much everything haha. buffets are for occassions when u dont know what to eat and you can spare $15-25 for random food. I think it's quite fun to eat with a bunch of people and eat a lil bit of everything. although after one visit you don't want to go again for months.

I hate going to buffets cos people just go crazy there, especially asians. It's so embarrasing when its your relatives too!

Then, if its a seafood buffet! my goodness '..
people fight for crab and prawns even before they've been put into the tray. Its like, CALM DOWN and have some decency.

I've never heard of the 'buffets are for fat people' thing though.

Like many people, I probably eat only 2 plates at max so paying $15+ is a waste. The only buffet I frequent is Sweet Tomatos (soups + bread + salad buffet, so I don't feel guilty) and I LOVE it. It's about 8 bucks. I find it better than Fresh Choice. Other than that, the only time my family eats at a buffet is when we go to Reno or Las Vegas (Circus Circus buffets SUCKKK, but I guess you can't expect much for 10 bucks). As for other buffets (Asian ones), it makes me feel queasy looking at all the greasy mediocre food.

Well sometimes, especially going with my mom's friend. She makes me feel so guilty and saying I have a lot on my plate. But I'm paying for it and I'm not just going there to stare at a wall, so of course I'm getting a lot of food and it's pricy.

A few years ago I went a like twice a month but now never...I think I just got bored with the food. When I go, I find myself never eating enough to actually go to a buffet so it's not worth it.

My family went to this place call Jogoya..
mostly is japanese food..
they had sushis, teppanyaki, western food, scallops, crab, shark fin..
and their dessert is to die for.. OMG!
