I know for sure I am, because I accepted admission and paid the $100 fee.

I was just wondering if anybody on Soompi is going to Davis in 2007 so maybe we could somehow run into each other and say hi.

Random thoughts about it after visiting campus:

- I still don't like car trips even if they're less than two hours.
- Davis is almost the bicycle capital in the world.
- Bicycles have right of way before pedestrians.
- There are green bicycles for traffic lights for bikers.
- UC Davis has very, very big wine celler.. and is known for it's vineology studies [study of wine] (I haven't even heard of it before).
- Half of the population of Davis is made up of students from UC Davis
- The students government/association is among the biggest, as well as the student ran business...
- The ARC is a free fitness center for students at Davis (excluding rock climbing)

Anybody have other random facts to add to it?

I have a feeling I'm going to try to request a dorm in Tercero... because a friend of mine is going to be there.. it's a bit far from the languages department, but I guess it would be good exercise. Tercero, though, is close to the biological departments as well as the dairy farm

Anyways, I was just wondering who else may be going here, maybe we can have a chat and get excited about the fall semester together!

Edit: I just found the UCD thread from 2006, but it seems to be for last year so I hope a new one for this year would be okay. If not, just close it I guess.

haha I'm going! and I'm thrilled. =) haha I'm really excited! umm... random facts? ok:

-there are over 40,000 bikes and only over 30,000 bike-rider (due to bicycle theft and convenience for the student)
-it's 1 of 2 UCs that have Design as a major (i think)
-umm.. there are 3 displays of eggheads on campus
-bicyclists without fenders are freshmen students
-there's a rite aid across the street from segundo dorms lol

random fact: i live ~10 minutes from UCD hahah. so if you guys...need a guide tour or something!!! I can be it ;D ive been there pleeeeennnnty of times. lol. Davis is 100000000x better than my crappy town. blahh =[ im not going to be attending davis....heh. but you guys will like it there its nice. (pssstt theres a lott of hot guys hahaha)

I'll be going to the one on July 18-20

on the orientation site it says to sign up on myadmissions but i dont knwo where to go from there -.-;

Do you know how to sign on MyAdmissions?

It requires your username and password. From there it has links to financial info, housing, and orientation. Basically click orientation, check which day your program is on, and sign up.

It's around $200 something if you need a place to stay and food to eat

I'm pretty sure that the STEP program takes the place of orientation. That program is really good though, especially since they help you pay if you need financial aid. I think the STEP program takes about a month, so they give you a few weeks to rest, that's why orientation is not required, STEP is basically you going to class already (takes the place of orientation and mooooore)

If you don't think it's that costly, join that instead, if not I do suggest that you ask them about it, such as if you could reject it.
