Mod note:

PLEASE READ THIS WARNING BEFORE DECIDING TO USE AN ASPIRIN MASK.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

EDIT: 01/26/08
wow this thread is still up ^^* i didn't expect it to last this long haha!
im sorry i haven't been able to answer any questions that have been on here lately..
i actually can only be on soompi a for a short amount everyday and im usually at the korean music section..
in fact, i didn't even really know that this thread was still alive! i hope it has worked for all of you~

[font="Impact"][size=5]EDIT: 05/31/07
i no longer use this twice a day, i cut back to maybe around 1-3 times a week.
i now think that twice a day might be a little bit much for my dry skin.
i substitute for milk, honey, and fruit masks often.
use however many times you want; but just putting in my input for myself.

EDIT!!!____xx
i dont want this to affect anyone in a bad way.
please test the aspirin mask and any other products you use on the sensitive wrist area of your arm before applying it to your face.
if irritation or any negative effects occur, pleaseeeee don't use it!!

my skin is very sensitive, pretty oily around my t zone, and my cheeks and the area aound my mouth is relatively dry.

i don't use the toner suggested, in fact i don't use any toner at all.

be careful everyonee~

original post:

I've recently had a major breakout a week earlier and I was freaking out. So basically I went online and googled every single way for a clearer face. I'm a xangan, so I know about Ricebunny... about a month ago I remembered she posted a great way to get beautiful skin. Since she had flawless skin I decided to give it a try. I've been using her method for about four days now and my skin's the best it's ever been for a while. It's really great and everything is very inexpensive and a lot cheaper than the Clinique stuff I was using before. A lot more effective too.

So here's her tutoral. ALL CREDITS TO MICHELLE PHAN AKA RICEBUNNY. THIS IS DIRECTLY FROM HER XANGA.

--------------------------------

Aspirin = Beautiful Skin

This is my formula for healthy beautiful skin. This cleanser that you will be making starts out as a mask, and ends up becoming an exfoliating cleanser. This can clear up acne and other skin problems. This works on me, with a 100% successful rating on the people I showed this to. Hopefully, you can be one of them. If you are allergic to aspirin do not use this. If you are allergic to honey, you can still use this method ( just subtract the honey).

Note
If you all are worried that aspirin may be bad for your skin. Let me inform you, that I would never suggest my readers to put toxic substances on their faces. I have done my research and have asked many dermatologists about aspirin. They recommend it, saying that it can heal scars, and here is an interesting article that states that it can prevent skin cancer. If you all are still skeptical, do not do it until you have done your own research and feel comfortable about it.

List of Materials

Non coated aspirin. I prefer the Target or Walgreens brand because it is inexpensive and dissolves faster.

Honey- You know, that ones you put on your pancakes and waffles hehe..mmm

Burt's Bees Garden Tomato Toner. You can purchase this on their online site . This is alcohol free so it will not dry your skin. You can use any other alcohol free toner, but I prefer this one.

Neutrogena Healthy Skin Anti-Wrinkle cream. This is also inexpensive, but works better than department store brands like Lancome, Clinique and etc!

Step 1-4 starting from left to right.

1) Take around 2-3 tablets of aspirin. (I used four for better photo details)
2) Sprinkle and I mean SPRINKLE drops of water on the aspirin, if you use too much water, it will become too mushy and pretty much useless.
3) If you added the right amount of water, it should start to disenegrate on it's own (Remember, get non coated and go for the Walgreen's or Target brand because they will dissolve at a faster rate than other brands). If it does not dissolve, use your fingers to break it apart and mix it with the water.

Note, the texture of this should be VERY grainy.

4) Add a 2 squirts of Honey onto the aspirin. After wards, mix the mixture until the aspirin is coated with the honey.

Now, start applying the mixture on your face. Make sure you avoid the eye area like I did. Also, try and avoid getting the aspirin in your nostrils, you do not want to breath this in. This may sound complicated, but honestly, it is common sense not to put anything up your nose right?

Apply and spread the entire mixture on your face. Leave it on like a mask for 10 MINUTES.
After the 10 minutes are up, wash this cleanser off your face. As you are washing it off, take advantage of the grainy texture of the aspirin and exfoliate your skin. This will get the dead skin cells off your face, and polish your skin to leave it glowing. I promise you, RIGHT WHEN YOU WASH THIS OFF, YOU WILL FEEL A MAJOR DIFFERENCE ON YOUR SKIN! It will feel soft to the touch.

Now after the wash, take the toner and dab some on a cotton ball like so. Wipe your entire face with the cotton ball in a circular motion. This toner will not only take off the gunk that the cleanser left behind (like makeup and dirt) but it will also constrict the pores, making them appear smaller and less visible.

Now take the moisturizer, and apply it on your face. I love this moisturizer because it feels so lightweight. It also has retinol, which will reduce the appearance off fine lines and wrinkles ( we are never too young for this gals, I started using wrinkle free cream when I was 8 years old). It also has spf 15, which will protect your skin from the (DUH) sun!

I do this every morning and night 24/7. If you want to see results, look at this photo below I took yesterday. This is a NON AIRBRUSHED, UN DOCTORED PHOTO (except for the cropping).

yup~ I've been using this for a while.. i used to do it everyday
but i left it on my face for 30-45 minutes..
and i didn't want to exfoliate with it because i think
that'd make my acne worse
it worked well.. i'm just getting lazy and do it once a week now..
but yeah everyone should give it a try~
your skin becomes really really soft..
just make sure to moisturize well afterwards because
the aspirin dries your skin up~
your skin looks beautiful!!

Seen many of these threads and the aspirin mask has been said to be too strong to be an every day thing. But you never know until you do it yourself.

haha aspirin is really acidic. you should only keep it on your face for 10 min max because even that takes a layer off your face. not that it is bad or anything because it doesn't hurt you and leaves your face glowing~

sorry if there was another thread like this. this is my first post and im relatively new so i didn't really know sweatingbullets.gif

btw that definitely isn't my face, haha. it's michelle phan's [: if it was my face i'd be the happiest person in the world.

any sort of alcohol-free, oil-free, trusted name moisturizer or lotion should be fine [:

or if you can find it from their online site? look on their anti-aging area ^^;

neutrogena's product are great overall.
