does it have to be these specific brands? Sorry if these questions have been asked already =X
Thanks ^^
what makes her skin beautiful isnt the toner or lotion. its the mask that does the magic. use the mask but do whatever else you want.
yes aspirin contains an acid that clears out u r pores and will help with blackheads
no, the mask is what does the magic. the toner and moisturizer is completely optional

( LOL well, the fact that they're stated there prolly means that they're important P: )
Would it be OK on acne areas? My cheeks have two acne areas .. Wouldn't the rough texture of the aspirin scrape off the pimples, thus leaving holes? :x

But I definitely think twice a day is a little extreme. At most I would do it ONCE every other day. I'll probably end up doing it about 3x a week. For those who have used it, do you find it's more effective in the morning or at night? After you wash it off, apparently, some of the aspirin residue is still left on your skin. Most people (who have reviewed it) used it at night and noticed a difference and woke up in the morning and their face looked even better...!
Yes, no?

and when you buy aspirin make sure its UNCOATED. coated aspirins dont work b/c they dont dissolve so easily in liquid.
a note of caution to all you people who do this, there are lots of claims on the internet that so and so's doctor says the aspirin can get absorbed by your skin causing you to OD on aspirin. aspirin is also NOT recommended for ppl under 18 b/c it causes something called rye's syndrome (sp?). ive been using this mask for a year now with superb results but i never made a thread recommending this stuff b/c of the medical reasons. i have no clue if its true or not b/c ive used this with no problem but
USE THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK!
for people who don't have noncoated asprin. i used excedrin extra strength and coated and it dissolved really quick!
------
i don't think asprin is gonna cause you to OD. that's alittle over the top. not unless you put like 50 asprins on your face.
i also heard you can use pregancy pills to do this too, but that's a big waste. lol.
"The U.S. Surgeon General, the Food and Drug Administration, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the American Academy of Pediatrics recommend that aspirin and combination products containing aspirin not be given to children under 19 years of age during episodes of fever-causing illnesses. Acetylsalicylate is another word for aspirin; some medicine labels may use the words acetylsalicylate, acetylsalicylic acid, salicylic acid, or salicylate instead of the word aspirin. Always ask your doctor or pharmacist before taking any medication."
credits to google.
reye's syndrome is not caused by just taking asprin!! it might happen if you take asprin when you have a fever or related illness.
so it's not recommended for 19 below? .__.
anyone below 19 and tried this mask and not have problems at all? im having doubts on hearing that but the salicylic thing makes me go for it.

yes, aspirin is not recommended for ppl below 18 therefore you should take that into strong consideration when deciding if you should use this mask. like i said use at your own risk.
im 22 i started using this when i was 20/21 and i have no problems whatsoever
EDIT: i just want to add that it doesnt matter if someone else whos 17 did this and didnt have any consequences. your body and its reactions are different than someone else. how that person reacts to aspirin isnt representative of how you will react to it.

and can u use any type of yogurt?? for an exmaple like yoplait strawberry yogurt?
I don't think you do this after you wash your face. There are variations to it. I've read stories of people putting it on overnight as a spot treatment. Others have people doing it and then moisturizing right away and skipping their cleanser (they use this as their cleanser). Others use the mask, and then cleanse. Others cleanse first and then use the mask and then finish up with toner. Others (like me, I suppose) just put it on their skin without cleansing and then rinse it off and just put moisturizer on... just play around with it.
No. haha. I'm sorry. You definitely want to use PLAIN yogurt. It's usually sold in big tubs next to the cottage cheese. It's a bit different than the typical yogurt that we buy to eat... that kind of yogurt is used for cooking and flavoring yourself... it's difficult to explain, but NO... no already-flavored yogurt.
I just did this mask. well, sort of. I did it as a spot treatment because I wasn't in the mood to get it all over my face. Maybe later I'll do it during my shower and stuff. Can't say it did much for me. I crushed up aspirin and then mixed in some aloe vera gel and dabbed globs of it on this big pimple on my hairline, some small pimples on/around my eyebrows (that's usually where I get my most pimples, weird ne?) And around my jawline which has had all these funny bumps lately. I don't know what it is... but it didn't seem to work well for me. I can't testify to it feeling softer or smoother (I already have pretty good skin), at least on my jawline, but it did make that pimple that I had on my hairline poppable...! haha. I just kinda squeezed it and it totally just popped right out and I was like "WOAH!" I read somewhere that it takes awhile for a person to find the right "balance" that works for your skin. People have tried it in various ways and it hasn't "worked for them," and they experimented and found their "perfect solution"... so I guess it's just a matter of trial and error and experimentation. I think I'll have a go later today during my shower with milk and honey (instead of water and aloe)...!
For those that are a bit frustrated, I was at Walgreens earlier today and they actually have "child-safe" aspirin which has a lot less concentration of aspirin than the adult ones. The only reason that anyone under 18 shouldn't do this mask is because aspirin consumption by people under the age of 18 is uncertain and can be considered dangerous (and yes, since you are applying it on your skin, that kinda counts too)... so if you really want to try this, go out and get the "baby aspirin" (even though it is coated...) and try that a little as well! Good luck, minna-san!
PS: coated aspirin is fine, it just doesn't 'melt' as fast, so as long as you're willing to be patient. Some people who reviewed this on MakeupAlley said they threw the aspirin in a ziploc bag and just bashed away until it became a powder and THEN just directly mixed it with their gel/honey/water/cream/etc of their choice in order to make a "mask."
