Little over a year ago my cousin bought a xbox 360 for me off of eBay. A month ago my little brother called telling me that the 360 would freeze at random points of any game he played. Then 2 weeks ago my mother calls to report that the xbox doesn't start up anymore and before it died it displayed the message "hardware failure". So I wanted to ask if anyone has any suggestions in getting my 360 fixed/replace. Personally I would rather not have to resort to buying a new console, thanks.

call up Microsoft and they will see if it's under warranty. Probably will have you read off the serial number. If it's under warranty then you'll get it repaired for free.

^what he said.
just get your serial number handy and the microsoft rep will ask you to repeat it. there's a chance it's under warranty, if so they'll fix it for free. if its not, they can have a paid service to get it fixed.
