I know this might sound weird to most of you guys. Well, there are a lot of people in Korea who deal with having O-shaped legs which is known as O다리 (오다리). It's when you stand up straight, your legs can't meet each other.

It's hard to explain so it looks something like this:

But my legs are worse especially since I am very skinny. I just don't have good looking straight legs!

Argh, as a girl, I am so sick of having this type of legs. I can't wear skirts or short pants because my legs look so weird. Even my mom always tells me that I gotta stick to wearing pants.

I was wondering if you guys are going through same thing as I am. I heard there are treatments to fix this to make your legs straight and stick together when standing.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Do you mean bow-legged?

I think the one you posted is another type called "knock-knee"

I don't have it but one of my friends does. What I heard from my grandma say to my cousins who has a baby is that they have to regularly massage their baby's legs to avoid getting leg deformity. But for grown ups, I think surgery is the only way to get rid of it mellow.gif

Maybe we should just create alphabetical legs.

I was told that during korea's harder times - after the war etc - people lacked nutrition as they were pretty poor.
So a lot of kids born in the 70s, even early 80s (depending on where they lived) have bow legs due to lack of calcium.

If you look at teenage kids in korea these days there arn't really a lot of bow legged people.

Yes, bow-legged!!!

ARGH! I heard there are items you can use...but where can I find them?

So hard to get used to ... I wish I can wear skirts and shorts like other girls without feeling weird.

maybe you should consult with a chiropractor

my sister's one shoulder was lower than the other, the doctor fixed it.

^ Yeah, a chiropractor could do wonders.
I've also remember seeing in some korean magazine before about tieing your legs together when you sleep, ha ha not sure if it works though... sweatingbullets.gif

I think you mean bow-legged and I have it, but I'm not Asian. This runs in my family, though.

I actually like my legs because I don't have to deal with my thighs rubbing together (big plus). When I wear short dresses, I don't feel weird about my legs, so I can't sympathize with most of you girls >>;

i feel like this could actually make your legs look thinner if they're pretty thick and just a mild case of it or something. lol. but i guess in your case.. >.<; since you're skinny and you said you have it pretty bad, that doesn't sound too good.

wait, are you talking about bow legged or knock-kneed?

bow legged: you put your feet together but your knees dont touch
knock kneed: you put your legs together but your feet dont touch (but your knees do).

i'm knock kneed...i read that this just happens randomly and a lot of kids have it but grow out of it after they get out of adolescence (around 9-12). I believe there is a surgery, or therapy (exercises), i know they have a lot of places that use exercises in korea. I think a chiropractor could possibly help. I also remember seeing something in a korean magazine about a tool (two bands of a material) and it wraps around your knees and ankles to keep them together and the exercise includes bending your knees all the way (in front of you) and standing up. You could try that with something that can bind your feet and knees together.

EH? I dunno if I have it. But it doesn't look like it's a major difference from normal looking legs?

I have bow-legged. When I put my feet together, my knees don't touch each other. sad.gif

Summer is coming up & I am already seeing a lot of girls wearing pretty jeans skirts on campus. I don't even know the last time I ever wore shorts or a skirt - I am too self-conscious about my legs!!!

My legs aren't in severe condition but they definately don't look great. Sooooooooo jealous of girls with long, nice, STRAIGHT legs. Like Yoon Eun Hae's! *sigh*

I will post few work-outs you can do to fix this problem.

if your knees don't touch, there's nothing wrong with that. If your knees do touch but your feet don't touch, then there is a problem. Like what the topic starter posted. That isn't good I see people like that and I alwyas wondered why their legs were like that and know I know.

If your legs don't touch I still think you can have fantastic looking legs.

WHen you stand up straight with your feet together, your knees are not supposed to touch eachother. Your legs are bending inwords to the point of your feet. Like an arrow pointing down.

If your knees are way far apart, then that may be a problem. If your knees don't touch, that's normal
