I got my prom dress (in Japan, yay
) and it's a strapless, knee-length dress. (From Cecil McBee). I was wondering if there was a way to..."tone" your shoulders.

you might start complaining about bulky-ness if you start working out you shoulder muscles
grab some weights, do some shoulder presses.
overall, running really would make that shoulder bone *pop* out.
weights + running= fantastic results
oh yesh, clean up the diet up to prom.

get light weights (so anywhere between 2-5lb dumbbells) and do laterals raises.
so basically, hold weights at your side - then raise them outward in a controlled motion (as if you are flapping in a flying motion).
try to do 2-3 repetitions of 20. make sure you take a one minute break or so in between reps.

umm... i suggest you try push ups. but not the hardcore type.
do you know those pushups that girls were made to do in gym? well, you get what i mean.
try to do 2-3 reps of 10, with 50 second break in between each rep.

those are good exercises for the outside deltoid muscle and part of the lats.
you can also try bending over at the waist and start by bending your arms at right angles at the elbow with light weights. keep your arms locked and move your elbows up so that your fist (initially pointing towards each other) are now facing the ground.
these 3 exercises should help tone your shoulders and upper back

Hmmm. Okay first thing's first since you're wearing a strapless prom dress, I suggest you make sure your shoulders and arm have the same tan-ness, if there's such a word xD I actually have a tanline that ends where my school tee shirt stops, and it was pretty hard getting rid of it.
Play volleyball!
D Or a sport that doesn't cover up your shoulders. Swimming is good, since it tones your entire body. I don't believe in sheer weight-lifting, but it won't hurt lifting some when say, watching a korean drama huh? xD Flab on the arm is not good. Lol. Basic push-ups every night is a good idea.(try putting your legs on the bed, and putting your hands on the floor so your body is in an inclined position. Do pushups now. It may seem kind of hard at first but it helps a lot. really)
hehhh.

did you already have your prom? maybe i'm responding too late. i've been asked this same question by my girl friend (not girlfriend) and fanatic of angelina jolie. push-ups work out your general upper body... chest, abs, biceps, triceps, shoulders, and back. if you want to isolate just your shoulders and get them toned like angelina jolie, then: http://www.women-workout-routines.com/shou...e-exercise.html
