My sister's laptop is being retarded with it's sound, after a minute of logging on the sound doesn't play. When I click on the sound icon it says "there are no active mixer devices, to install go to...etc" And when I go to the control panel sound setup it says there is no device but error sounds and the system start up music plays. I've updated the driver and eveything else but nothing. It's Realtek High Definition Audio btw. She's taking it to the repair shop tomorrow but if anyone has advice to fix this beforehand would be much appreciated, thanks!

The high definition audio...
Um last week microsoft released a Windows update patch that broke a lot of the High Definition audio drivers.
Are you sure you put in the right drivers? Seems excessive to spen money to take it to the shop for software issues....

ahh it's ok! It's fixed now....I hope. Did the update also happen to mess up the desktop appearance? After start-up it goes to classical style
. But sometimes the option to change it back to XP isn't there. She only got the laptop in January so they'll fix it for free
Oh and now the Media Player update is still 'initializing'! Why is it taking so long! grr! No wonder I hate computers
they always mess up!
