Hey, I found plemix.com b/c i saw somebody post about it here. Is it a trustworthy site? I want to get the Sony Ericsson Z610i and i think online is the easiest place to get it for me. However, I was wondering what unlocked means since it says it's unlocked. I'm currently with Cingular and am going to stay with them so does unlocked mean that I can use this phone for any service?

so in a nutshell..

1. Is plemix.com reliable//safe?

2. What exactly does Unlocked mean? (I'm going to use Cingular)

thanks

I can't really say if they're reliable or not since I order only once from them but they were reliable when I ordered my phone. I got it 2 days after I ordered not counting the weekend. Unlocked means you can use it with any GSM carrier, so you can use it with Cingular.

Becareful~ It looks like they sale "Grey Market" products and only offer 7 days of support. This means that if your phone dies in 2 months, you're S.O.L because the manufacturer will reject warranty work and the company will not be willing to help you.

Besides that, if you want to save some money (since, it is grey market...) and take the chance it won't break, go for it. Everyone seems to get their product from the company...
I am on FaceBook. Ninja mode, tho. So PM me with your details and I'll add you ;D

Okay, thanks for all the replies.. i've been researching about all of this and decided to order from plemix when the sony ericsson z610i comes out.

Does anybody know how I know which GSM..number(?) I'm using? Does it show on the cell phone bill or something? B/c the z610i supports:

UMTS 2100
GSM 900
GSM 1800
GSM 1900

according to the sony ericsson website.. so basically it is not quad band (...what?)// does not support GSM 850.

thanks

Well that's kind of bad because Cingular uses 850 as well as 1900 so your reception won't be as good as it would be with a quadband phone.
