Internet Connection

I need help with Internet Connection, my current modem is not working and my router would not work without a proper modem currently running sufficiently. However, my current modem is running not smoothly, therefore router is unable to also support internet connection for my laptop. I also use the neighbor's router connection.

Any suggestion how I would access Internet Connection other than paying and purchasing a modem from a good Internet Provider? Example, remote control and using an Internet from another location. Any suggestions?

P.S. I have a laptop.

I would suggest shutting off your modem and than turn it back on afterwards. I always have that problem as well, and it would work everytime.

Did you disconnect the router from the modem? Than you take the wire off from the back of the modem so it turns off? I would wait about 30 seconds and plug the modem in first, and wait for it to start up. When none of the lights were blinking any more, I would connect the router..and it would work perfectly.

wait, are you a dsl user? @_@;
Bboy Stan's way is for the whole system to cool down and repower itself or something like that.
but i've had problems with verizon before. since my house is a resident account, i heard they dont make us their first priority so hence our connections sometimes arent all that great :|
if you have a business account, they make sure you get high speed connection all the time to keep your business running o_o
(hope you understand what im saying lol)
but anyways, did you try calling tech support? maybe there was a power outage in your area not too long ago.
