Hahah I've done that.
Last year we had to do a reasearch paper and every week we had to hand in one separate part of the research paper... I did it the night before EVER SINGLE TIME. I ended up with an A!!! YAY ME :]

Personally I find my essays are alot better when written under pressure because I don't leave myself all this time to go nuts over it. I just get it over and done with knowing that it has to be it, without the thought of "oh i can fix it later." It's pretty good I tend to get 19/20 for most of it which makes me happeh (:

Absolutely. I used to be terrible about procrastinating when I was in college! For some reason though I would hunker down and produce a pretty good paper when I waited until the last minute to write it... I guess I'm one of those people who works well under pressure?

Yeah, I do that a lot. I don't know why but I work better under pressure. And I'll still get a better grade then someone who started like a week before.

I work better under stress though. Like I'm freaking out that's when I get to work.
If I do it a week before I'll sit there chatting on MSN thinking "Yeah ... I have a week to do this. Yeah, yeah. I'll be fine."
Week later.

i did that heaps in the final year of high school last year =.='. So bad. But i usually prepare the essay a few days before and write the essay the night before. I like to work under stress and i usually get decent marks for it.
But i don't think i'll be doing it this year. Pressure is good but too much all at once, screws you over.

Lol... I sorta do that all the time...
One time.. I had this research paper that would determine whether I could graduate from HS or not... and it had to be 5-8 pages.. and I literally was stuck for 7 hrs working on the first 2 paragraphs... then I was like "OK! YOU HAVE TO DO RESEARCH THEN WRITE IT OUT!" So I did... Research took up 2 classes time, and also I started typing my paper out during my 3rd class, and finished! Funny thing is that... I was really lucky when I finished it 10 mins before it was due during my next class... Man.. I really lucked out... But Ever since this incident occurred to me.. i always get either a B or an A.
i remember having to write reports for P.E. in 7th grade, and i would always do them the night before, but i still got As on them : D
& i had to do book reports for my eng class in 7th grade & i aced them too ^^

i was required to write an essay on the day it was given to me, for my Provincial standardized exams and did a great job on it. From scratch. without knowing the topic beforehand.
technique is to just keep writing whatever is in your mind then re-arrange/delete ideas as required. enables me to write essays at the deadlines.
