If you have a tournament coming up, you've probably already learned enough to be very competitive. All you should be worried about now is getting relaxed (no more super heavy weight training until the tournament), eating right and maintaining your weight, and practicing your moves constantly. Most of all, just be confident! Good luck, kick some butt, and have fun!

Yeah, constantly do low kicks, so you can batter the guys thigh, which will make him defend it more often. Then come in with a high kick.

Eh, TKD is not much of a punching sport, thus combos are pretty much useless. Throwing kick combos will just make you go off balance and easy to get spin kicked on. Got to work on counter-kicks. I was doing some TKD with this guy. He basically destroyed me on counter-kicks since I'm not much of a TKD guy.

^i was referring to kick combos... because punch combos are useless. i understand the counter-kicks, but the fact is that if you only throw single kicks, you'll miss out on some potential points. In TKD, a lot of the points come from the second kick in the combo because the first ones get blocked often. you only use balance when you jump on a sliding-roundhouse kick... if you do that THEN you'll will get spin kicked.
