Don't think it like that. Macbook is still a hot thing, and it still rocks. You can never race with technology, if you keep waiting for newer and newer version, you will wait forever. Better to own one and enjoy it.

Can't wait to see what Apple's up to its sleeve.

Yeah I know but it's like rawrrrr.. I feel so needy sad.gif
I mean it's kinda like if I waited just 2 weeks then maybe I'll be happier with my laptop.
Because honestly, I feel like 250GB on my macbook just isn't enough.
And I feel like the upgrade would include a harddrive upgrade.. which is the main thing that's getting to me.
I mean image quality isn't that important to me (even though it's ironic as I am a film editor/graphic designer) so that's why I didn't go with the macbook pro but knowing that new macbooks are coming out makes me tear sad.gif

Same thing happen to me last year when I got my iMac.
I got it a month before the new ones came out.
And I ended up getting stuck with a 250GB harddrive when it's like 700+ GB harddrive now.

well you can always return it, pay the restock fee and buy the new model.

don't be like me, they were saying the new macbook pros were going to come out in Febuary, so I've been waiting since then for the new models and without my macbook pro for 8 months! >< ppl kept pushing it, First it was Feb, then July, then Sept, well finally!

I KNOW!
I was pretty much praying that it'd be September so I wouldn't have to stress but yeah.

Iono it's pretty difficult for me to return it right now.. I think.
Because I did the free iTouch thing and I bought it through my school campus computer store.
I also got a whole bunch of discounts too and saved a few hundred dollars.

Well technically they did mildly update the MBPs in February (which is the model that I got). It's really minor adjustments though. I wonder what apple will have in store for us tomorrow... I would get a new laptop if I needed it, but it hasn't even been a year since I got the MBP and I'm totally happy with it (actually I don't even use it that much, since I got an iMac)

naw, i was refering to a whole new model design. One thing that I don't like about the Pro is you can't replace the HD easily like the MacBook.

I really hope the new models tomorrow you can swap out the HD easily.

My CC is ready to buuuuuuuuuy!

So what do folks think about the new laptop designs for the MB and MBP? Oops, sorry, I didn't realize a new thread was created to discuss it.

I like my previous gen MBP better in terms of looks. If I could afford to upgrade I would though ._.

hey there, the same thing happened to mine, just take it into a mac shop and they'll change your top cover.

they do? and do you have to pay for it? 'Cause I have a crack on my Imac too...a huge crack...

I have another question, I'm not sure if I've already asked it here or somewhere else, but the problem is I can't install my printer.
I mean I think my printer is installed, because I can print a test page. But when I want to print with a program like Illustrator or InDesign,... I can't select my printer.
So I went to system preference to add my printer, but my MBP shows this to me:

"An error has occured when adding the selected printer.

error: -9672 "

So I don't understand why the printer works when printing a test page, but not when printing with a program (illustrator, Indesign, word,...)

some background information:
printer: HP Photosmart 7450
MBP os x 10.5
usb 2.0 connection

I believe the test page (if it is one that is printer generated and not one you wrote and are trying to print out) works regardless of whether or not a computer is hooked up to it. It's just a function of the printer to test itself.

I looked up the problem on the net and these are what I found. Hopefully it helps.

I got a hairline crack on my Macbook near the corner and I wondering how long does it take to get it fixed/replace if I bring it to the Apple store? Can I just walk in or do I need to setup an appointment or something?

i dont know if this should go here, but i hope someone can help me

does anyone know how to copy japanese/korean dvd's using a mac...
i've been having trouble with the subtitle part...i've gotten the encryption thing done (i think), i just can't burn the video with subtitles

it would be so much easier if there was an all-in-one program to do this....any suggestions for copying subtitled dvd's????

i'm using mac os x version 10.4.11 if that helps any

its probably easier if you set up an appointment with the genius bar. if you do a walk-in you might have to wait a while to see if a slot opens up. i don't know how long you'll be without an computer but maybe try calling the store and ask "generally how long does it take to fix a cracked screen"
Hope that helps somewhat...
