Thanks for the reply. It actually turned green a little while after. I googled it and some said it could be the issue of the battery. You might want to check that out if you want

The drive reported an error:
Sense Key = ILLEGAL REQUEST
Sense Code = 0x24
INVALIDFIELD IN CD8
well i already googled for it and some people said to delete the "com.apple.DiskUtility.plist" from my preferences. SO my question is, if i delete it does that mean that i cannot use disk utility anymore?

I don't know if anyone remembers but my iMac had a problem where the screen is blinking and parts of it are completely dark? Well I kept on holding off taking it to the apple store because it's such a PITA carrying the damn thing (24") and it's finally gotten to a point that I can't see the screen at all, period. I would take it to the apple store right away, but I need to back up my stuff first... Anyone have an idea? I'm thinking about hooking up the iMac to my MBP via firewire 800 and then hooking up my external hard drive to my MBP via USB, but I'm afraid the transfer speed would be too slow? I wish I could hook up the iMac to another screen or something but I don't have the cables to do that either.

i know tons of ppl have had this problem and was wondering what i should do now...will apple fix this for free for me??? (im not on applecare)
im honestly beginning to lose faith in apple/mac . i love how it runs and all but...it overheats so easily. i swear, if i open 3 youtube links, it overheats on me and makes that really loud noise. does this happen to anyone?
or like, even when i just open myitunes, it overheats.
what should i do?

My iMac's screen was dead for a couple of days but then it started working again on Friday so I was able to get everything backed up and I dropped it off at the apple store yesterday. Hopefully they can figure out the problem this time... Wonder if I can get an exchange in the future, since this is the second time I had to take it to the apple store. It's three strikes and an exchange, right? O_O

ALSO, now that im paranoid, i've searched around my macbook, and realized the top cover part is also starting to chip away
but i can guarantee none of this is my fault as i have never dropped my macbook...
ughhh, how can something that boasts exceptional quality have some much damage?!?!? it's only been 1.5 years

Apple has stated it was a poor design quality flaw and they would replace any macbook with palmrest damage even if you are out of warrenty, so take your laptop to your nearest apple store and show it to them.

They let you return the 15" MBP for the 17" MBP?

No way. I had to sell it on-line and then buy the 17" -- it's a PITA but better than that glossy screen.

What's the difference between the white one and the aluminum one? I like the white one more, but only for aesthetic reasons xD. A previous poster said that it's more worth it getting the aluminum one, but why is that?
Also, there are some programs I run that aren't available for Macs, so I was also going to get Windows, but I'm a bit confused with how running Windows on a Mac works. I know you can run some parallel program, but is that necessary. What I'm saying is, if you want to do something on Windows, then switch to Apple's OS, do you just turn off the computer and restart it?

that being said, does anyone know if I can get a AppleCare after the initial warrenty's been out for like a few months?
