i'm planning to bring my macbook aboard plane. and wondering (besides being able to use it on plane)..can i charge it using the 60W MagSafe Power Adapter that i usually use? do i need an adapter?
(i'm taking cathay pacific if tat info helps) and does anyone know if that airline has free wifi?

thanks

I've never taken that airline before but I've never been on an airplane that had power adapter or wi-fi. I usually just leave my laptop in my bag and do other stuff like listen to my mp3 player, taken pictures out of the window, sleep, and read books. I usually leave the power adapter in the checked luggage too because I don't like carrying it around when I know I won't be able to use it :I

For the Mac Users who have Bootcamp, is it worth using. From reading Mac related blogs and magazines, they said you have to install an anti virus when using Windows on a Mac and buy the Windows OS. I know you should buy anti virus software for extra caution for the Mac OS without using Bootcamp.

I've never heard of an airplane with wifi. Haha there's gotta be wireless infrastructure up in the sky to do that.

i don't really get what you are trying to get at but i'll try to answer. yes, it is worth using if you have to use windows (ex. clubbox, subbing programs...) and of course, it would be advisable to install an anti-virus on any window's based computer. and yeah you have to buy your windows OS of choice unless you get a pirated version.

as for wi-fi on airplanes, it's been around for some time. i remember the last time i went on a trip in 06 they were offering wi-fi on Korean Air, kind of expensive though.

Is Bootcamp really worth the time to use? That is what I am asking. Before I run out and buy Windows and the anti-virus software, any user realted experiences would help.

Have you ever used a Windows OS before?

Was it worth your time to use?

If you used Windows before and felt like the mac was missing something that only windows has then get it. But for ordinary things, just stick with OS X.

You don't have to buy anti-virus, just downloaded Avast, Avira, Kraspersky, or w/e good free anti-virus there is.

You shouldn't have to worry about viruses if you don't go to shady websites.

Remember guys June 8th (Monday) is WWDC!
I suggest holding off in buying a macbook for now
since you never know what apple will release on their
press conference. Maybe they might release a Uni-body
Aluminum Macbook with a better processor then the newly
announced white macbook? Or maybe a price-cut? Other than
that hold off that wait, you still have time to get a free printer
and itouch since it ends in the beginning of September.

(Although it is Apples Press conference at WWDC, the main
topic is the upcoming iphones that are releasing, so Im not
too sure if they are going to be releasing any news about their
laptops.)

O yeahhhhhhhhhh new iPhone here I come.
(Not really gonna buy one >___>)

Seeing how they just silently upgraded the macbook recently I doubt there will be anything new in stock for the macbook.

It always bothered me that the MacBook looked exactly the same as the MacBook Pro but wasn't "Pro" -- but this wasn't really what I expected either lol. I think I'm glad that I got the last MacBook unibody because it has a replaceable battery.

hey guys ohmy.gif
I havea friend who recently wants to try and getting into DJing/remixing his own music and whatnot but I'm pretty much more or less clueless with macs and programs to use for editing music together and remixing.

So, help! ohmy.gif

What should we look for when shopping for a mac laptop? (hes looking for a laptop and not a desktop D: since hes always on the go. nothing too fancy really as long as it does the job)
and what programs should we look for. I hear logic(s)?

Ram? Memory? whats the highest and lowest we should be looking for. Specs and etc?
I'm looking to probly helping him get a used one off craigslist or if we have to get a new one, atleast know what to look for. Thanks!

WOW! I'm so out of the loop. I didn't even know that apple had updated their line until I saw the thread today. I wonder how my GeForce 8600M GT stacks up... sad.gif
