Does anyone know any timing programs that I can use for Mac?
Something similar to Aegisub, Subtitle Workshop or Media Subtitler.

Hi, I am about to buy a MBP 2.8ghz 15" with the anti-glare (matte? yea? :X) option. After much research, I'm pretty much leaning towards the matte option (95%) just need to check it out in stores before ordering online (cuz you can't buy a customized mbp instores right?).

The one last remaining issue is the hardrive. The 2.8 comes with a 500gig HD which I was planning to downgrade to a 320 but at 7200rpm (faster? biggrin.gif). Thing is... I heard that the 7200rpm HD had problems (notably the beeping one which was solved: http://support.apple.com/downloads/Hard_Dr...are_Update_2_0) and that they are loud? Is this true?

How much louder is a 7200rpm hd compared to the 5400rpm ones? I've also read (http://www.macsimumn..._drives_video/) that this applies only to the 17" model.

So can anybody clear this up? (I am aware we are not a tech forum but I don't feel like signing up on a random forum and ask one question)

thanks

The beeping thing was fixed recently with an update. However, you probably wont have to worry about it since you will be getting 10.6 with the new Macs.

I'm assuming you did it via bootcamp? Did you put in the driver disc in afterwards?

my macbook has been running slow lately because of the albums/movies/variety shows i've downloaded. don't tell me to delete them because i won't! laugh.gif it has roughly 50 GB of space left ohmy.gif, so i figure i need an external hard drive. i download on a daily basis, so i'm running out of space fast! right now, i have my eye on the Iomega 500 GB eGo FireWire/USB 2.0 Portable Hard Drive, Mac Edition but it's pretty damn pricey. what do you use or what do you recommend?

i'm currently looking to install Windows into my MBP. I know there's an installation & set up guide and Boot Camp Assistant, so it should be pretty simple?

A few questions I had while looking through the Instal & Setup Guide:

- how much space should be allotted for the Windows partition? The guide says less than 32gb
- NFTS or FAT volume?
- how long does it usually take to install Windows?

THANKS!

did you install firefox on your desktop?
when you install a program, simply drag onto your application folder.
it shouldn't be on your desktop.
hope that helped.

Currently using Mac OS X Laptop version 10.4.11

When I insert a concert DVD it automatically ejects.
This DVD was bought from a store, not burned.

My mac laptop has no problems detecting any CDs - launches iTunes.
Tried the concert dvd on our PC and it works fine - opens up in media player.

Is there an application or plug-in I need to download?
I have DivX Converter, Adobe Media Player, Flash, Micro, and WMV(Flip4Mac)

When I insert the DVD again, no icon appears on Desktop or the Finder.
Eliminating my thought of dragging and dropping over the previous applications I listed...

Anyone have an idea or suggestion?

Oh my God. Someone help me. Please?

Okay, so I got the new macbook pro today, and my dad also bought Aperture along with it. So what's the difference between iPhoto and Aperture, which one's better, and how do I use them? Agh!

aperture is for professional photo editing and somewhat complicated to use if you've never used photoshop or other types of graphical design programs.

iphoto is just user friendly easy to use.

IMHO Apature is of course better and more powerful.
