Hey guys,

I use iChat to video chat and it hasn't been detecting the iSight recently. I thought maybe because I haven't ran any new updates so I did but it still won't work. All I get is the audio image. Anyone have any idea why it suddenly doesn't work, and any solutions?

Thanks for the help smile.gif

What program are you using? GoogleTalk and AIM offers Video Chat. As long as your friends buddy icon has a camera next to it, you're good to go for video. If not, it's going to be audio. Correct me if I'm wrong anybody.

I use AIM through the iChat. Well, yes I've been video chatting with a friend that uses AIM through iChat as well but the video icon stopped appearing and was replaced by the audio icon. I went to check and it says iChat can't detect a connected camera when the iSight is installed already. The camera works on Photobooth, just not on the iChat.

Here's a stupid question, do you have another app open that's currently access the isight? Mac's won't allow you to open more than 1 application using the isight.

Nope, I didn't have another application opened at the same time as the iChat.

I just opened iChat again and the video icon is there! Anyone know the reason it disappears and reappears on its own? And possibly even a solution for it to stop doing that?

.exe is strictly for Windows. Either you're going to have to find a Windows PC to run the .exe or find a Mac version of the installer.

Okie, so I just got my Macbook Pro 13" the end of July and now, my battery health is down to 93%!! Is this normal? Is there anything I should do to maintain the 93% health or is there anyway that it can go back up to 100%?? sad.gif

Very normal.

It's incredibly nice. Quicktime is sososo much better and the general speed of the computer is awesome. Safari does kinda become funky (slow responses, freezes) but it IS faster as promised. The whole "Top sites" and history/bookmark flow is pretty nice as well. It wakes up from sleep real quick and shuts down/starts up faster as well. Graphics are sweet (especially the iTunes visualizer <3<3<3). iChat is SO MUCH better, too! My boyfriend and I video chat a lot and the speed/quality is so much better. And! There's a new screensharing feature where I can control his screen and whatnot but it crashes a lot so..that's still a work in progress. But other than that, it's worth the $30 (though I got mine from my boyfriend's CD :3).

It's really not that hard. Takes maybe 5 minutes of your time at most. Just search on Youtube to actually see how easy it is.

Nay, it's worth it imo.

IDK how much applecare costs there, but here it was roughly 300 bucks.

300 / 36 = 8.33333333 $ per month. Heck I don't even play any sort of games, so that's not a bad deal for my case.

It's just a insurance, just in case within those 3 years... and a lot can happen within 3 years you know.

From my personal experience, you'd have to be idiot to NOT buy Applecare. After over 1.5k in repair estimates if I hadn't bought warranty, I'm very glad I did.

Thanks for the help!

I have another problem here. I loaded my songs to itunes and all the asian characters came out weird.

Tried converting the ID3 tags, didn't work. The same thing happened the other time when I revamped my itunes on windows actually and what I did was to edit the tags manually one by one. But is there a way to solve this easily? I have more than 2000 asian songs sweatingbullets.gif

I ended up having to redo my tags as well. I couldn't find a workaround for the problem.

i just got my macbook pro 13.3" in the mail and i already scratched the back of the computer. im looking into buying a hard case for it but i cant seem to find 13.3" from specks. can anyone else recommend me a case that wont scratch up my laptop!?

I use an incase hardshell case for my pre-unibody macbook pro. It's saved my computer from a few dings already, and hasn't impeded the airflow at all. And of course, my laptop has not been scratched since. Regardless of the case you get, I would suggest to remove it every couple of months to give it a slight dusting so the trapped dust particles don't scratch up the laptop body.

I didn't buy applecare. :X I wasn't sure if I really wanted it at that time so I left it to think about.

And also I just bought a speck 13" hardshell for the white macbook, and the top part fits fine but the bottom part... like idk how to say it, but the bottom is a little loose.
For example, if you hold your macbook in front of you and tilt it from side to side, you can feel the macbook moving slightly on the bottom.
><"
Will that do any damage to my macbook?? It's locked in fine (I checked both tabs on the bottom and top part) and it's locked in without a problem. But it still slides from side to side...?

You can buy AppleCare anytime within the 1 Year Standard Warranty.

Currently using Mac OS X Laptop version 10.4.11

When I insert a concert DVD it automatically ejects.
This DVD was bought from a store, not burned.

My mac laptop has no problems detecting any CDs - launches iTunes.
Tried the concert dvd on our PC and it works fine - opens up in media player.

Is there an application or plug-in I need to download?
I have DivX Converter, Adobe Media Player, Flash, Micro, and WMV(Flip4Mac)

When I insert the DVD again, no icon appears on Desktop or the Finder.
Eliminating my thought of dragging and dropping over the previous applications I listed...

Anyone have an idea or suggestion?

Almost forgot I posted here. Any last minute input before I head over to a Mac Store?

Usually any disc that is not within your Region Code is ejected once it is recognized by the computer.
