YAY! So i got the 8gb itouch and the printer!! they didnt charge me the restocking fee and they were really nice about it.

but... i think i'm going to give my sister the itouch as a grad present. ^^;; after all.. i didnt really need it. xD


Ok. So.. i did everything you told me to do, colloquy (and the keyboard shortcut really helps me, thanks!) but the writing still comes out as (

Do you guys know if MAC notebooks use 2.5" serial ATA hard drives? I'm trying to sell an 80GB Fujitsu HD with those specs and a friend wants to buy it from me but she lives 400 miles away so I can't physically confirm it.

Ugh I need to vent. So I found out that I have a dead pixel on my iMac and since it's still within specifications, I need to pay the restocking fee to get an exchange. The lady on the phone told me that I could get it checked at the genius bar but I don't know if that will help at all... Ugh frustrated.

I felt like just calling up that same apple store again because I was sort of unhappy with the way the conversation ended with that lady (and hoped someone else would pick up the phone this time). I talked to a different lady who told me the same restocking fee deal, so I was frustrated but remained calm and explained that I would not be seeking an exchange or a return in the first place if the iMac didn't have the dead pixel. She sympathized and talked to her manager, who said that I could get an exchange without paying the restocking fee! Yay! So hopefully this kind of shows that it really does matter who you talk to at the apple store -- a person in a good mood can save you over $200 while a person in a bad mood can screw you over and put you in a bad mood as well

you don't need anything right now. just have a good router for firewall and you'll be fine.

i dont know what a router is o_o;;

but the internet that i use is someone from the apartment im staying at.. plus I use the school internet (where i dont believe it's secured..).. and so i would like a program on my computer that will give me a firewall. =]

Hi! Well I don't have a Mac now but I'm planning to get one. With the student deal going on it totally pushed me over. (Though I had been planning to switch for a few years now XD). But I have an issue most of my computer based art tools like my tablet, scanner, and photoshop all run on Windows.

So basically I'm wondering if I can still use my things with a Mac?

Is the promo for students on getting a free ipod and discount on apple merchandise only for college students? Because I went to the store and they said it was only for college students but then I went to the website and they had a choice for k-12. @___@.

i need to use Java 1.5.0_06 or higher for a certain (important) site. So i went to the mac site to d/l it, but it says Java 1.5 can only be used on OS x 1o.4 or higher. The problem is i'm still using OSX 10.3, do i really have to upgrade my imac in order to use Java 1.5?

If i really have to upgrade my imac, how do i do that? I just a MPB so i do have the cd's, but can i install those on my imac. Is the OS for MPB (laptop) and Imac (desktop) the same?

(i hope someone will understand me, haha i'm not so good at explaining computer related things)

^ as for saving the battery life, I read online at notebookreview.com (really good site for laptop and computer info) that at home you should take out the battery and plug in the power adapter instead. Those replacement batteries for macbooks cost around 150 bucks so instead of the risk I followed his advice.

Man, my macbook is turning 3 years old this comming august and im so sad that the palm rests are getting dark T.T, i have the keyboard cover from iskin but everywhere else, the whiteness is fading, i wonder if apple will let me trade mines in for a new one with a couple of more dollars...

yeah the free ipod is only for college students but you can get a discount on your computer for k-12

how do i upgrade my imac from osx 10.3 to 10.5? Is it very hard to do it on my own, do i really need a pro to do it for me?
