They're both 8gb, so why would they not store the same amount of songs? Song count is very approximate -- it really depends on what quality of music you are listening to. If you're listening to apple lossless, one song is going to be a lot bigger than one song with 128kbps mp3 format, you know?

Because space is allocated on the iPod touch for the applications, internet cache, email, etc and app store, which the nano does not have, so that's why the nano can hold more songs than the touch even if they are the same size.

Ohhh that's very true. But then the nano doesn't have full 8gb either, although it does have more space than the touch.

Hello fellow MAC users, i've just recently purchased a Macbook Pro two weeks ago with the specs: 2.5GHz, Core 2 Duo/2GB/512MB VRAM/250GB 5400rpm.

& Sadly to say, it's already dead. It won't turn on at all, so now after talking to apple, i guess it's going to be back in the repairs store for me.

Anyone else had this problem?

how is the voice recording quality on the macbook?
i've already decided on purchasing the macbook in the fall, but i'm also considering a voice recorder for recording lectures
but if the recording quality suffices, i'll save my money =o

Recording lectures... I wouldn't know on my macbook pro. However as far as recording like my voice for conferences it does alright. I'm sure you wanted to record lectures you might want to sit close up to the front for obvious reasons.

I have a macbook pro and I always sit on the upper floors near the speakers, so it should be fine as long as you're near the lecturer or the speakers.

Hello! I just bought my first MacBook the other day - 2.4 GHz in white. It's amazing! I should have converted to Macism sooner.

I was wondering if anyone here has gotten a virus in their Mac yet? The salesgirl kept insisting that viruses are rare to Macs, but I guess it's hard to adjust to that notion because my HP laptop, no matter how much anti-virus software I stuffed into it, a virus would always find a way through. If anyone knows of an anti-virus software for Mac that I should get, please let me know.

By the way, I tend to download movies from megaupload, sendspace, etc. - so I was wondering if doing so is potentially harmful to my Mac? ALSO, is limewire another dangerous source to download from?

I'm trying to keep my Mac in top-notch shape for as long as possible.

THANKS!

No there arn't any virus scanner for mac as of yet. Mac 99% of the time will not be infected with viruses, even if you intentionally downloaded a virus. Most viruses are program for WINDOW user, and if there is a virus you can rely on the system update, it will immunize EVERYTHING before you even infected. If you were to intentionally download a virus, it will not do any harm one bit, try it out! You can relax and enjoy your max, i download stuff from megaupload and stuff all the time...

It wouldn't turn on at all, as in pressing the on button and no response. But that's okay, apple said it was a hardware problem and i got a replacement.
