im in desperate need of help.. LOL

today i looked at my college schedule on the website to see what classes i got and if i got in yet.. but.. MSJC classes are full. i've been thinking i was waitlisted for it.. but turns out i didn't even make the waitlist because the waitlist is and has been full.. and classes start tommorow.

SOOO as a last minute decision i applied for OCC and RCC. OCC deadline was like 3 weeks ago, so i count as a late registration so they can't get back to me for another 15 business days, and school there starts in 14 days. RCC isn't too late but they'll get back to me in 5 business days, and considering that should be about FRIDAY, and classes also start on the 31st at RCC, i think i will be too late in registering for classes.

IMMMMMMMMMMM PANICKINGGGGGG LIKEEEEE CRAZYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY.
whast the best thing to do in my situation?

and yes it is my fault. sad.gif i'm such a bad procrastinator, but at the same time i was out of country and state for 3/4th of the summer -.-

Out of country is not even a good excuse considering the fact that you can register within minutes online anywhere in the world.. Unless of course you were in some 3rd world impoverished/war-torn nation, then you're excused.
I suggest you look at more CC's outside of your "region". You can always take online courses at other CC's so location shouldn't matter too much. Try SMC and some of the LACC's. You will most likely be stuck with bad classes (if there are any left).

Okay i just applied for LACC, but i don't know how good of a college it is. i'm going to check it out though. applying for SMC right now..

^well even if you were out of the country and you had to take assessments, you could always sign up for other classes without req's such as psych,socio,speech etc etc for the time being and take eng or math in the winter or spring

i'd take an online course or 2 for the time being, i guess or just work for the time being until you can start registering for winter session

good luck!

Different majors. Some schools do not offer a true "accounting" major, but schools like UCLA offer an accounting minor.

Do Non-Transferable courses affect my cumulative gpa when applying for schools?
Also, can I still get in if I am missing like a calculus class but I have everything else on assist?

^From what I've seen with some of my friends, yeah you can still get into a college if you are missing classes. I actually didn't apply to USC because I was missing 1 or 2 classes. I met a person at one of my internships and he missed 3 classes and still got into USC D:.

I'm really in need of some advice, please. So my situation is very... dry.gif. I was originally supposed to attend a CSU as a first-time freshman this fall quarter, but due to some issues with enrollment, I'm no longer attending. But the thing is, now I'm left with no school to go to! I was only notified the other day (the 19th I think it was) that there are problems with my enrollment, and I was like kldafjklasjdfkl;jsdalk because it's too late to apply to any community colleges anymore! sad.gif I've asked counselors at my local CC and they just suggested that I apply for the spring quarter (begins in January). My friends suggested the same. And I mean, that's pretty much the only choice I have left, so yeah that's what I'm gonna have to do. But.. is it bad that I'll be starting late? I'll be behind won't I? Missing out on a whole semester is a lot, especially when I want to transfer to a CSU/UC later, isn't it? Ahhh I'm sooo devastated. Never thought something like this would happen to me. And I really don't know what I'm gonna do for the next 4 months! I've been on summer break since June and now I have another 4 months off too... ahhh. I was thinking maybe I should get a job to pass the time, but does anyone have any other suggestions, please? Totally frantic about things right now. Thanks in advance!!

Getting a job would be your best bet. Missing 1 semester won't push you back that far behind as long as you take summer semester next year. The thing is, you might have to take the max units per semester to transfer in time (but it's entirely dependent on your major). Expect 2 years to transfer and 16+ units per semester if you have a lot of pre-reqs.

I'm going at the university, planning to change to a college, and back to a university again.

But before I do any of that, I'd like to know what's the difference between a "Major" and a "Minor" degree besides the needed required amount of classes and credits.

I was going to major in business and my teacher tells me to minor in Japanese as well. What does that entails? That I would be able to do business in Japan?

Is this kind of like a Final Fantasy job system where you got your main job abilities and some of your other job's abilities on the same character?

A minor isn't going to land you a job in Japan..it's hard enough as it is to land one in Japan with a major(xenophobia ftl). A minor = if you don't want to spend too much time with another subject but it interests you.

Question:
I go to two community colleges right now. They aren't branched or anything like DeAnza and Foothill. I have 20 units done in 1 college and 6 units done in another. I plan to just attend 1 community college my 2nd year and I was wondering if I'm still able to get an AA degree if I get enough units. Like are the units transferable to get an AA degree?

A minor is not really required, right?

Holy crap, pretty much the same thing happened to me. I talked to the counselors at my local CC and they didn't help very much so I talked to one of my old hs teachers and she suggested taking whatever courses were open (and were part of the IGETC or whatever) and so... that's what I'm doing. Honestly though I seriously don't know what I'm doing. I'm blindly going through all this college stuff.

Minors are not required. They are more like little bonuses. The major is what matters more. I'm not sure why your teacher said to minor in Japanese though. Pretty random unless you told him/her that you were interested in doing business there.

sounds like me in the beginning blindly going through community college too laugh.gif except without the CSU thing because i never took my SATS and etc but i'm almost done with my igetc and pre req's, so i'll be blindly going through the transfer process once next summer nears laugh.gif

Make sure that the college you pick to graduate from has a transcript from your other school. Most CC's will take units from another CC but you need to make sure your college will give you the credit for the class(es) from the other school. You should definitely talk to a counselor or school official working in Records. I managed to get an AA degree with units from 4 different colleges so I don't think you'll have any problems. :]

Hey guys, I'm planning on attending UCLA with a special someone of mine.. ^^;
Currently looking to West Valley college for 2 years in architecture.

I plan to be an urban planner/designer, and the only thing UCLA offers like that, is a B.A in Architectural Studies after I'm done with my 2 years of CC..

would that be a wise choice to make? Cause I'm not sure if I'm being redundant in my class taking, or not getting the right type of learning, ect ect..

I basically wanna know what to fill the gaps in from my college career, to my after college career. ^^;
