if i took two years of spanish class in high school, would i still need to fulfill the language part of the IGETC at my local community college?
& also if a non-transferrable class is not passed but you retake the class with a passing grade, will this affect your transferrable GPA to a uc greatly?

nah if you passed those 2 years of spanish in HS then you don't have to do it for IGETC.
you just have to have your transcript sent to the community college to have the language requirement cleared.
that reminds me, i have to go get my transcript to have that cleared lol.
for the second question, i'm not sure.

u mean they definitely will if there is a conditional statement? or that they just may?

^ and yes it does happen to be calc, part II to be precise.

Every case is dealt with individually I think. You should definitely call and ask though.

I got accepted to UW, and I ended up switching* my math class in the beginning of the quarter. I called them up and asked them only to find out I got accepted based on my high school math.

i'm going to a cc after high school and wanna get started on getting my credits in summer school.
i am going to de anza, but because of gas/money reasons i can't travel in my car too much and drive there everyday in the summer so i was thinking about going to a different cc...maybe west valley in saratoga for the summer.

so my question is can the credits i get at west valley transfer over the de anza once i take the classes there in the fall?

i love this thread. thank you for everyone who has given there great lovely advice (:

I dont know if its only offered at pierce but for those of you who know what its about do u guys mind telling what the advantage of taking the honors program is? and also this is my first year and im planning on applying for summer(becasue i screwed up during fall and my GPA wasnt high enough)is it too late/waste of time?

thanks a bunch by the way my goal is UCLA if that matters at all

I have a little bad situation, hopefully someone can help
[regarding: CSU Long Beach, dropping/failing a course..]

im currently attending a community college. i have this class that im doing really bad in with a slim chance of passing it. so if i dont pass, i wont get my units, GPA will drop, it'll show that i got a D or F, and i'll have to take another semester. but if i drop the class, i'll only have to take another semester. seems smart to drop it but im worried that taking an extra semester will kill my chances of getting into CSU Long Beach. i hear CSULB is one of the harder schools to transfer to so im afraid anything slightly negative will totally ruin it. but then again, does CSULB look at individual grades or overall GPA? i can totally recover my GPA if i stay in the class and fail, but what if i dont get accepted because i failed it? if i take an extra semester, would they hold it against me too?

hey! i go to pierce too! :] well im in the honors program as well. it doesnt guarantee your admission to whatever school u wanna go to, but it does give priority. u need to have at least 3.25 in your transferable classes. the benefits are: u get automatically signed up for alphi gammi sig something something, um library privalages to ucla or uci libraries, and other stuff. if you look at the class booklet then it shows you at the end of the pages. u gotta take like 20 something units of honors classes i think i forget, but its its in the schedule book. this is my first year too, but u have time. dont worry, just bring your grades up. take winter/summer classes. u also need to get your high school final transcript and turn it in when you apply for it. from now on, keep working hard and try to get straight A's. that's what i have been doing. i took like 3 courses in winter and im taking 5 classes now in spring. i`ll also be taking 3 classes each summer session. know your limit and work hard and you`ll be fine. if u have other questions, feel free to PM me :]

ps- my goal is UCLA and CAL :]
UCLA!
