even if tehy do look at cc transcript, if u did great at UC, i think the UC one will be weighted more.

my major preparation classes will take up most of my units..if i can pass my gov and bio ap exams...that'll drastically lessen my workload [crosses fingers]

I remember hearing that law schools will look at both transcripts for sure. As for grad schools, I would assume what kokonut is saying is correct.
TrungyBoi: I believe that you transfer the credits directly from your school in Boston, but you should talk to your community college counselor AND/or a counselor at the UCs you want to transfer to. They'd know best.

if u are already in a csu, it is harder for you to transfer to a UC compared to a CC student.
reason: u are already in a 4 year institute, CC students need somewhere to go, so they get priority.

im guessing ur attenting a cc right now. you need to do both. you gotta sign up to the cc (so u get an ID number + ability to sign up for classes) that u wanna go to. You also need your transcript if the class you want to take requires prerequisite classes. you need the transcript to prove that you are in that level. both are easy processes and it really shouldn't be too much problem.
on the other hand, if you are already going to a uc or something... you can only take a class in CC during summer. that's how it is for ucla so im guessing its like that for other uc's.

since you've mentioned that if i'm going to a uc,i can only take classes in a cc during summers.. what if it's the other way around??
can i take a class in a university.. like just one or two classes..but not during summer.. probably during fall..even if i'm attending a community college??
coz my problem is.. the community college that has the classes that i wanted is a bit far from us.. and there's a university near our house.. so one of my options also is that, probably i can go there and take the classes that i wanted..
i hope i'm not confusing you too much..
thanks..

cc's dont care if u take a class elsewhere. you can even go to two different cc's at the same time. the main purpose of a cc is to get its students to transfer. so if u are taking extra classes else where, they'll only encourage you.

I'm in my 1st year at OCC. As of now, I really have no idea what my major will be. And I'm almost done with my GE classes so I really need to think of a major.
I want to transfer to a UC, probably UCI. And reading through all your posts, it's not that hard to get into a UC huh? Just do a good job on your classes and participate in some of the activities. We have to do some community services work huh? I need to start on that too.
Btw, what is the transfer agreement with universities thing? Some mentioned it but I'm not sure what it means.

i don't know if this is what you're asking for.. but in our school it is called an articulation agreement with a partner university. basically, they will credit all the courses that you've taken in a cc and will be enabled to enroll as a junior in that said university. Though you must still ask for an advise from your transfer counselor in what classes you should take for your major.. coz even though the university will credit all the courses you've taken, it's still depends on your major.. if the course that you took doesn't apply in your major then it won't have any use in that university you are transferring to.

They can deny you admission for MANY reasons, but if you're in an honors program, you probably do have better chances of getting in than the average student. It's really hard to know HOW MUCH volunteer and extra curricular activities will help you or how much of it you need, but remember to enjoy what you're doing. From what it sounds like, you should be pretty okay.
