does transfering from a community college to a real college or university save a lot of money?
and is it possible to get accepted into schools but attend a community college first?
College is college... there's no such thing as a "real college". And yes it does save a lot of money and the first 2 years at a CC is the same at a CSU/UC except CSU/UC go deeper into the subject I believe. And yes again, it's possible to get into a CSU/UC and out of state colleges, but you just have to do well in CC of course.

if it does not offer at your local CC or any other CC close by, it's okay to miss that pre-req. if it isnt a pre-req... then pick a different class =)

"Prompt #1 (transfer applicants)
What is your intended major? Discuss how your interest in the subject developed and describe any experience you have had in the field — such as volunteer work, internships and employment, participation in student organizations and activities — and what you have gained from your involvement."
This prompt seems to focus on experience in the field of your interest, but it's difficult for me to say much given I just started college o_o;. Since I'm leaning toward pharmacy, I'm thinking of joining the Pre-Pharmacy Club here on campus, but that's about all I can think of right now...and I really want to and need to transfer! ): help?

From what I understand, there are two different lists ... one for transfers and one for first-time freshmen.
You can definitely get into a college from community college within less than a semester depending on the college.

Um......I think your mom is wrong. ^^;;
From what I remember reading, uc takes top priority over transfer students than kids who just came out of high school. I believe you can read this at the uc main website or something. Can't remember where I read it from but it was something dot edu.
Transfer students do have to wait a few years, only 2 since we are taking the lower divisions I believe at a cc and once we transfer to a uc, we are taking the upper division. Basically we are getting rid of all the regular classes and getting rid of the classes that you would need to take if you were to attend an uc straight out of high school.
So no, we don't need to wait several years.......where did she hear that from?
how do i know? cuz i am a transfer student who just recently transfer from a cc to uci within two years at my cc. essentially, i went to a cc straight out of high school, finish my lower divisions at a cc and transfer to a uc to finish my upper divisions. save me a lot of money.

I hear it's super hard for anyone transferring period.
They prefer the 4 year because they get more money.
At least that's what the transfer center at my CC told me when I asked about Stanford.
