well according to the LA times ...
it was stated that 2,300 students will be cut from all UCs EXCEPT MERCED, LA, AND BERKELEY. So for those who wants to get into UCSD, it`ll be harder than before. For Merced, LA, and CAL, additional 500 transfer students will be added so its good for those who want to go here. oh man, the budget problems are seriously screwing the students up D; WHY TAKE MONEY FROM EDUCATION?! every child or person should get education ... sigh

it's actually the opposite.
cc transfers get priority to uc's/csu's over high school seniors since transfers have no where to go.

im pretty sure biola would take anyone with a decent gpa and has $$
it's a religious school so you would have to take some religious class upon transferring.

well its not a positive thing, but retake the class again and get a better grade. Explain in the comment section when you apply of what happened, why you got that grade, what you did the second time to earn a better grade, etc. TRY to get an A, work hard for it! It`ll replace that grade, although it will still show but it wont be counted for if u retake the class again.
Getting 1 W is fine .. even 2-3 W's are fine too, but you have to have a good explanation as to why you dropped it. I know some people who had 7-8 W's and still got into all UCB, UCLA, UCSD, etc. I'm not saying that you should get 7-8 W's, try to avoid them and just get good grades but 1 W will not affect you in any way. It is ALWAYS better to drop that class and get a W then a D/F because those will really lower your gpa.
good luck!

It's the opposite of what your mom said. Its SO much more easier to transfer from a cc to a csu/uc. Transfers get the first priority than anyone else because we have nowhere else to go lol. On the other hand, high school students still can go to a cc if they dont get in. Much easier, but you still gotta work for those good grades

Is Foothill/De Anza as good as Santa Monica or Pasadena City?
May I know the top-ranked CCs in California area (mainly SanFran/LA region)??
Furthermore, as I am quite keen in taking a major in Environmental Horticulture and Design, does Foothill specialize in preparing students to transfer to a TOP four-year college? Also, does other CCs offer a degree in the mentioned major? Which CCs are they?
Please reply. Thanks

I don't know much about foothill/ de anza ... but all i know for sure is that SMC (santa monica) is the #1 school for UCLA transferring. I say about the SF valley/ LA region .. SMC, pierce college, and PCC (pasadena) are the best known ccs. It doesnt really matter what schools you go to, as long as you have a strong gpa. But to my knowledge those 3 are the best known colleges to transfer from. And I dont know anything about the environmental horticulture major, sorry lol. Good luck!
my friends have transferred to USC and cornell university as well. Privates are a lot more complicated to get into since they require more information. And the courses that you have to take are a bit different than the courses that you have to take to go t UC school. From what i know, privates need SAT/ ACT scores, recommendation from professors and dean, etc. A bit more complicated than public universities.
