I was first introduced to Feist by her song Secret Heart from the Let It Die album which I found to be very sweet and endearing. Leslie Feist is a wonderful lyricist, and although there really isn't a comparison, if you enjoyed Regina Spektor's Begin to Hope album Feist's latest, The Reminder, won't disappoint you because they both fall into that indie-minded confessional pop. It isn't as pop/catchy as Spektor, but just as sentimental with exceptional lyrics and a delicate voice to carry it all through. There's also something here reminiscent of Cat Power (love her), which I'll attribute to the album's laid back, soft ballads.
The Reminder is officially set to release on May 1st.
Don't ask me how I was able to get my hands on the full album already. It was by pure luck.
I'm still listening through all the tracks, so I can't say a favorite yet... but I am enjoying 1234, Brandy Alexander, So Sorry, and How My Heart Behaves.
