This topic will be about the similarities and differences between the anatomy of chicken or avian bones and human bones. This could be anything like structure, composition, physiology, etc. whatever may be applicable to comparing the two type of bones. Anything you can think of, please reply. Thank you for your time.

hmm...it's been two years since i was in bio 2 (part of a unit was about homology/analogy of structures) and physiology, but i'll take a crack at it.
similarities:
-general bone structure (obviously not the proportions)
-(this may be of interest) the bone structure of the digits is very similar even though from the outside they look dissimilar
they have similar wrist, hand, and digit structures
-i...think that chickens have scapulas...yes they do...well, i wouldn't be able to explain the movement observed in flight--the scapula (collar bone) enables side to side movement of limbs--dogs and horses and several other animals lack collar bones
differences:
-the chicken's sternum along with almost all avian species have enlarged sternums which enable them to hold a lot more pectoral muscle which is used in flight.
-i guess looking at it from the outside, a lot of things are obvious
-giving birth via egg production requires an egg producing network in the chicken that enables the chicken to form the egg through nutrients in its own body--something that humans obviously lack
-there is much more sponge bone in birds than in humans which explains why they are so much lighter
i should be studying for a biochem test friday instead of doing this, but i got bored =P i'd go into more detail...but i forgot a lot of material.
sorry, hope this was helpful.
i guess not all of these were skeletal differences, but...i dont know...whatever.
