I think this question is in reference to biological constructs versus cultural constructs. For example, race is culturally contrived. When you try to biologically justify a cultural construct, you run into some problems. For example, Thomas Morgan (I think that was his name) tried to prove that white people had bigger brains than black people and that is why white people are smarter. However, his experiment was totally bunk. He would pack mustard seeds into white people skulls and would pack rice grains (I think) into black people skulls. However, you can pack a lot more mustard seeds than rice grains because mustard seeds are smaller, not to mention more dense. Anyway, I'm not too clear on the experiment. I hope this helps somewhat. I think the main point your professor is getting at is that race cannot be defined biologically.

native americans: one with nature. mother earth. talk to the land.
culture: shamanism, marraige,...
i think, you cant live without both.
you need culture because it builds history and leaves a map to walk forward with,
and nature because the land has some part of human life whether it's symbolism or emotions...
i dont know!
i have anthropology too. (anthropology looks like a weird word)
but my teacher is too focused on not eating meat, and not eating chemicaled food...
but, still fun.
