Their new stuff sounds interesting though.. 'After Hours' is brill, though it sounded a bit like Bloc Party at the beginning.. and the b-side to the single 'Bad behaviour' is just another classic WaS track.
Those guys are HI-larious though.. too bad their drummer left..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aWs_BwizrfQ < that has got to be the funniest thing ever..

I really enjoy indie 'cause it's got something unique to offer. I really like: Arcade Fire, Margot and the Nuclear So So's, The Decemberists, Kaiser Chiefs, The Bravery, Something for Rockets, The Strokes, Mae, Metro Station, Anberlin, The Films, Daphne Loves Derby, and Motion City Soundtrack (they're my favorite.)

no i haven't got the new WaS album, but i dunno if i should buy it when it comes out (to support them) or download it so i can quickly listen to it....AH such a hard decision...
and yes i've seen arctic monkeys once, last year in august for their only melbourne show. it was the best gig EVER. loved every moment of it and can not forget the feeling when they first walked on stage and launched into 'This House is a Circus'. fookin brilliant. i was so psyched before, during and after the gig. unbelieable. definitely going to see them again when they come back. best live band.

I love Keith so much!!! He cracks me up but I think Chris is the funniest of them all. Do you know why Michael left?

How do they sound like?
Hi LANOZ!
They're kind of hard to describe. I would say a bit Trip Hop/atmospheric Electro-lounge with an edge. Similar to Massive Attack but stripped down. Here are some samples from youtube...
Early Releases:
Undenied
Glory Box
Only You
Sour Times
Preview:
Hunter (Live)
This a live version of the new song "Hunter" which will be released on the new album "Third" in April. Their sound has changed somewhat from earlier albums but Beth Gibbons has such a unique voice, that you still get a sense that this is Portishead.

umm, i don't know the exact reason why he left, but i think he just wanted a break from the band. kinda like when andy (bassist) left arctic monkeys, only they replaced him with the nick.
i dunno if they are replacing Michael in WaS, but it's only Chris and Keith on the cover of the album..so maybe they'll just stick it out without a formal drummer for the time being..
but those 3 guys together were HI-liarious.
and bugger it, i will download the album... i'm very impatient... ssshhh..

OH, The Bird and the Bee! Love those guys... incredible tunes. Fcking boyfriend has got to be my fave, next to La La La.
I really like the whole jazzy/cafe sort of vibe they have
Check out Liam Finn (son of Neil Finn of Crowded Hous fame). his song 'better to be' is just divine.
He has an album out too if you're interested.
AND, Ferraby Lionheart. With a name like that, he's gotta be indie... loving his song 'small planet'.
Anyone here like The Duke Spirit?
