Feel free to post do's & don't's .. I know some colleges don't require interviews & they only have interviews to involve their alumni in something school-affiliated, but interview skills can come in handy anytime.

I'll just say this as a general guideline for any type of interview (since I've never been to a college interview, but handfuls of interviews for other programs), don't say anything YOU wouldn't want to hear.
Be extremely careful of what you say, if one thing slips then you're pretty much screwed. If you're the interviewer and all of a sudden the kid you're interviewing goes CRAP AF:LKAJDFLKJ -enter expletives here-, I don't think you'd be too amused.
Don't put yourself down. "What are your best traits?" "Well...I'm not that smart BUT I work hard!" Don't say the first part. Don't put yourself down. Why would you say something negative about yourself? They aren't going to sympathize with you. They aren't your friends. They aren't going to say, "Oh, you're probably not stupid". They're going to think to themselves, "Wow, this kid either has a low self esteem, really is stupid, or a mixture of both"
TALK ABOUT YOURSELF. I know this one kid who says nothing about himself, everything is about his sister. MY SISTER IS SO GREAT. MY SISTER IS SO SMART. MY SISTER GOES TO YOUR COLLEGE. MY SISTER IS THIS-AND-THAT. Uh yeah, that's great. So what?
Look them in the eye. You want them to know that you're comfortable in any kind of situation, but don't look them in the eye to the point where it's condescending or overdoing it. You don't have to nod and "uh huh" every word that comes out of their mouth. Have you ever had someone do that to you? Isn't it annoying? Moderation.
Yeah. That's it. I had to get it out of my system.
Oh yeah, in my opinion, it's best to stay silent than to say um, like, or ah.

I couldn't have said it better. Even though you might look like your bragging, its better to talk about your accomplishments and your traits. If you dont think ur smart, just say your disciplined, theres always a way to avoid telling the whole truth with other truths.
Your bodily actions reflect your mood and your manner.

13 Things to Avoid
Don't ...
* Be late
* Memorize speeches -- sound natural and conversational
* Ask questions covered by the college catalog
* Chew gum
* Wear lots of cologne or perfume
* Swear or use too much slang
* Be arrogant -- there's a fine line between being confident and boasting
* Lie -- it will come back to haunt you
* Respond with only "yes" or "no" answers
* Tell the school it's your safety
* Be rude to the receptionist or any other staff you meet
* Bring a parent into the interview
* Refuse an interview -- this is usually noted
