I'm taking the SAT next Saturday (May 5th) and I a bit worried about the essay since the topics are so ambigious and the topic can be so random.

So, does anybody know any books, examples, or ideas that cover a wide variety of the topics commonly used for the essay and example briefly?

Some of mine are:
Learning from mistakes
+ personal studying habits
+ US HistoryArticles of Confederation --> US Constituion

Helping others to help yourself
+ Huck Finn & Jim help each other through the struggles of society

Is the world becoming a better place
+ yes, new medicine makes us live longer
+ yes, new technology makes our world and lives efficient and esier
+ no, global warming
+ no, too much proverty, homeless, AIDS, disease

Always striving for better
+ The Great Gatsby, great live, rags to riches, but still wants love (Daisy)
+ Society, we always want new inventions and products to make our lives easier

okay. i'm going to share something i paid a LOTTA money to learn =]

for essays,
for support, the best ones in order are:
historical events
literature
hypothetical situations
personal experience

so.. you can use macchiavelli for practically everything, i think
iono just use whatever comes to mind =]
good luck
