I am 5"7/8 and weigh 126.5lbs. I've been jump roping for the past 3-4weeks and certain types of pilates now and then (to tone my waist/abs area?) and I THINK I'm losing some fat .. My goal is to lose more fat so I don't have jiggly flubber around my tummy and thighs. At the same time, I don't want to gain too much muscle mass in my legs (from doing cardio).

Am I doing everything right? Lol. The thing is .. I'm not big on cutting down on junk food .. I'm not a snorlax but I do eat some stuff afterschool each day.

I plan on going to the gym and going on the elliptical. How many minutes should I do this for? Should I still continue jump roping? Thanks smile.gif

Hi! I've been reading a few pages and I've learned a lot! thanks!

Okay, I am just wondering... how do you lose muscle? My boyfriend needs to get down to a certain weight and he's been dieting and exercising a lot but he's actually gained weight. According to his BMI, he's considered obese but he really isn't. (he just has really little chubb ^^ i'm not even being biased here) He's a size 34 in pants and wears like med-large shirts. anyway, I figure he's just gaining muscle with all of this exersize and now he's getting really desperate. he needs to do this so he can rank up in the marine corps. He needs to lose 12lbs in a week and a half. i know a little bit about health myself and i know this is really unhealthy but this is his job. (the marine corp is so cruel. >.<!) anyway... i hope you have some advice? thanks...

Is this a one time weigh in? IF it is, he could just suck water weight for the last 1-2 days, losing 12 lbs shouldn't be that hard.. hell I've went from 126 to 112 in ~3 days for wrestling. It's really unhealthy but it gets the job done and after the initial weigh in he can start to lose weight over a longer period of time.

OMG T_T Just what I need a professional!! Well.. I'm a guy and I'm not looking to get super muscular, basically I'm just looking to get thinner and more lean, maybe a little muscle but not to much where I'm like macho haha. Basically what I want to know is whats the best foods to eat to gain fast results? What kind of working out habit will help me (Running, crunches, sit ups)? Do I eat before or after I work out? When is it a good time to eat when I'm just going through my daily routine? What is some good foods to eat before I work out (If eating before you work out is the right thing to do)

Hopefully you can help me T_T

hi
i'm a girl and i recently noticed that i have very bulky legs and arms
it's probably due to the fact that i've been playing sports most of my life
the thing is i want to lose my bulky/muscular look
how do i do that?
i know that muscle is very hard to lose.
someone told me that if i don't do anything my muscles will turn into fat and it will be easier to lose...
thanks in advance

ok, so i`m trying to lose weight overall, but incorporate increasing my vertical jump into my exercising as well [i`m a volleyball player].
so far i`m just running for about a half hour, and then doing crunches, squats, and calf raises, and on saturdays i play volleyball with my friends. any tips on what else i should be doing? i also want to focus mainly on my belly and legs to slim them down. i`m 5'3 [maybe 5'4] and i'm about 170lbs. I want to be 110 by the summer... possible? yes, no? july at the latest! help me! lol

does anyone think 5'3 130lbs is too much for a girl? I have a pretty small frame to be honest, like my bones and all- i just have extra baggage I guess. How much should I lose?

you don't need to change your weight if you're satisfied with how you look and you are healthy. in terms of health, get your body fat percentage checked out.

I apologize for the late replies everyone. I work about 80 hours a week, :/ So please excuse me on my current hiatus. haha.

I'm going to have to suspend my activities in answering questions for a short duration. I am prepping for a competition and my focus will solely be on that for the time being.

Feel free to keep asking questions in this topic and keep it alive, I've noticed a few people have been answering questions in my absence. Thank you.

Regards,

Jonathan

Well I'm a college student and I work out maybe 3-4 times a week... 2 minimum if i can't get the time in. I was wondering if anyone took any supplements, more so like the protein powder mix? I think you mix it with milk or something, but anyways, whats a good way to get protein? People have been telling me i should take some vitamins or the powder after i work out, but can anyone confirm/ recommend any products on this?

EDIT:

oh about myself,..
5-11 maybe 6 foot now, who knows.
180-185, it's been pretty steady for a couple of weeks, I'm losing fat, but gaining muscle...
and i'm on no diets, i just eat regularly

I guess i'm looking to get more lean, i used to do taekwondo, but now i just feel like i want to be lean/strong just to look and feel good tongue.gif

I'm an okay size but i have a chubby upper body like my arms and such. What do you recommend to lose weight in that area? Or is it true that i have to lose weight overall and theres no such thing as targeting one area when losing weight? ALSO, Does riding a bike help you lose weight alot?
