sorry if this has already been asked: what are some good brands of protein or snack bars? i hear about these suggestions all the time, but i don't know which ones are the most nutritious and natural. thanks in advance!

I buy the Kashi bars, they have 7g protien and plenty of fiber. One of their bars contain flax seed, which has omega 3s in it too!
The South Beach Diet bars are pretty good too, I think they have around 10g protien

im trying to lose some extra weight from working at a convenient store--i stare at snacks all day

height: 5'1
weight: 117
age: 20

goal: 10 lbs ,107-08ish

my sister has my body type but she's really athletic so she's very muscular, so im scared that if i work out alot i might look that way and also of losing my lady lumps -__-

i just started a work out routine:

tennis for at least an hr

running/walking for about a mile

and the 8 min ab, buns, arms workout

if i cant play tennis or run, i just jump rope in front of the tv for awhile

btw my weight goes up and down a few lbs sooo much so i really cant tell if im even losing weight

help me out please?

how intense is your cardio, and more importantly, what is your diet like?

sorry to burst your bubble but if my information about biology is correct you can't change your bones without extreme measures (I mean extreme surgery treatment kinda stuff) your bone structure is genetic. Also even though you can't change your bone shoulder width, you can make the appearance of a wider frame by building up your shoulder muscles (sorry don't know the technical term for it haha) anyway good luck lol.

hey, i just started working out, but i'm also trying to focus on my diet.

i know there are 'power foods' that i can eat (nuts, veges, etc) during the day, but does anyone have personal favorites for breakfast, lunch, and dinner?

just simple, easy to make meals would be great. thanks!

you can't make your bones bigger. you can make yourself look bigger with muscles though. do weight training.

i'm sorry i hope i don't offend you, but you seem like you're not really serious about losing weight. because you talk about not being able to stop from eating junk food, and then mentioning diet pills.

at 5'2 weighing between 131-133 sounds a bit over average. What is your BMI, really, because you're saying you're almost over weight?

i hate to tell you this also, you can't lose 20 pounds in 4 weeks/ one month, unless you are reallllyyy large. which you're not. healthily, to keep it off, you should only lose between 1-2 pounds a week, lowering body fat content as well.

you're getting your cardio in , that's for sure. i'm not sure if you're weight training enough. sad.gif so incorporate like 3 days of weights, and like 5 days of cardio.

it's good that you're exercising more, but when you do, you need to eat more too. the RIGHT KINDS of food though. 40% carbs, 40% protein, and 20% good fats. it's all mentality, you say you want to lose weight.

all this takes mind power and self will and discipline. are you up for it? you mentioned abs, legs, and so forth, and losing weight. you have to lose fat everywhere to see those, and use weight resistance to tone those muscles in order to help burn fat.

and again, diet pills do work, they're dangerous and not healthy though. so again, you kinda made it sound like you're not reallly serious about it sad.gif i'm sorry, i hope i don't offend you. but i hope you learn that it really takes pure dedication and hard work to lose real fat/ weight. good luck.

For breakfast, I usually eat fat-free yogurt (Yoplait) + adding 1/4 cup of flax&pumpkin seed granola. It's super yummy and filling!

Is it possible to gain lean mass and cut fat at the same time? More specifically, is it possible to have significant muscle synthesis during recovery if you don't consume more calories than your body needs? Is it enough to take in the required amount of protein everyday?

You have to consume more protein. Required amounts are for maintaining current muscle. Your body will burn what it needs for energy therefore you must eat alot. Yes, it is possible to build muscle and burn fat aka clean bulking.

Cardio is a exercise that makes your heart rate faster, so it strengthens your heart I guess.
Such as running, dancing, or anything that makes you sweat buckets and gets your heart rate up.
