thank you thank you!! for this thread xDD

i had a few questions actually so i hope it wont be a bother -.-"

just an fyi:
BMI: 18.9 (about...?)

[and im sorry if these questions have been already asked] tears.gif

1. how do i get slimmer in the stomach area without having to define your abs so roughly? and instead kinda have a flat stomach with an outlining of your abs?

2. Is there a possible way of physically getting stronger without looking so bulky and staying slim all around?

3. what exercises do you have to do to firm your body? especially the butt, thigh, and arms?

4.

Lastly, i was wondering if it was abnormal to have uneven sides o.o?
because unfortunately my right side has a bigger curve than my left...
my left is either just going straight down or is a little out (?)

including that because of my uneven sides, i have uneven hips

so i was wondering if there was anything in specific to do to even it out? or just unnoticable?

please pm! =]

and if you're confused id be glad to send pictures xD

there could be different factors affecting your look:

1.) are you lifting heavy weights/ less reps? or vice versa? lifting heavy 4-5 reps with long intervals between sets may cause you to look bigger.

2.) how hard are you running? everyone has a different body reaction, so maybe you might need to run harder or do different cardio to sweat more. sprinting is much more effective than running; if you can time yourself, going all out sprint for 60 seconds, a light jog for another 60, and then another spring for 60, repeating this cycle is more effective than the treadmill.

3.) cutting down carbs is fine, but sugar intake and even protein are other things that could make you feel bulky.
in the end, you may not be burning more calories then you consume.

reflect on your workout
reflect on your eating habits

this probably wasn't helpful, but i tried haha sorry -__-;;

Hey~ First off thanks a bunch for making this thread. It's nice to have someone who knows that they're talking about -o-;;;

Well, I gained a bunch of weight this school year for stress and because I haven't been able to exericise at all. I started off at 5'6 and a healthy 125, but I ballooned to an uncomfortable 145 and none of my clothes fit. My goal is to get back to 125, but I don't know where to start.

I thought to start with cardio to lose fat, and I was wondering if you've heard of/think the workout video TurboJam is a good choice. If not, what type of cardio to you recommend? I have practically no stamina and lose my breath going to stairs, so I don't know what to do.

What type of program should I do to lose the weight and tone up?

And finally (sorry for all the Q's) I gained a lot of fat in my calves. I always had slim and toned calves but now they're huge. What type of exercise can I do for them without making the bulky?

I'm new to the thread, actually to this entire sub-forum (I like lurking around in the food and fashion forums biggrin.gif) so I'll just start off with one question
My legs, thighs and calves, are disproportional to the rest of my body (I mean they're HUGE!) and I think I walk/speed walk a fair amount.
When I flex my legs, I can feel a muscle line but my legs aren't toned at all.
So I'm wondering if I should start running (I have this phobia about falling down though mellow.gif ), stretching, or doing lunges (sp?)
Or does it have to do with my diet (I have an average body type, I'm starting to get a bit thick though but my legs have been this way for the past couple of years)?

Any tips to not feel bored doing cardio? I'll be on the eliptical or stairmaster for 15-20mintues after that I just end up feeling bored. I've done the full 30-45mins couple times, but usually i don't have the drive to go any longer.

im not sure if this is the right place to ask. but i wanted to know.. whats wrong with my diet??
im not on a diet, but i want to know if i'm eating healthy or not.

lately ive gained about 5-8 lbs (fluctuates but more like 5)
usually if i gain any weight it evens out after 2 days or so.
its been about 3 wks and the weight is still here and looks like its here to stay.

the thing is, my eating habits are still the same. in fact i think i eat less now since i work so i pretty much have 3 meals and no snacks in between.
before i would have a very big breakfast (egg whites, bagel, oatmeal, glass of milk or water), snack all day long, have lunch, dinner, fruits about twice a day. all my meals were cooked at home, i dont go out to eat nor do i eat fast food. snacks would probably be biscuits or the like. occasionally cookies, but generally i dont have many sweets at home.

now i eat a much smaller breakfast. either oatmeal or toast. and i have a normal sized lunch and dinner and no snacking. 1-2 fruits a day.

im pretty much baffled by my weight gain. i eat fairly healthy as i cook my own meals.
im thinking maybe its stress? but i mean could it really affect my weight that much that its nearly 10lbs?

Hii~ I was wondering, do excersizes like jumping jacks and skip roping help lose weight at all? And what do they exactly help? ^^; My face and legs(and my stomach a little) are starting to get a little bigger and I was wondering if those would help lose some weight in those specific areas. I read that when you lose weight, you lose it equally but my arms are like sticks and my legs.. not so much. XD; Uh, and thank you~~

If you want to reduce your waistline and remove fat from specific parts of your body, you can't just excercise that particular area where you want to lose body fat. Only when you participate in total body aerobic excercise such as biking, jogging, swimming, etc..you burn stored fat. Crunches and situps will most definitely help tone and build the muscles in the abdominal area. but this activity is not an aerobic activity and therefore will not utilize stored body fat for energy. Excercising for a minimum of 20 minutes at least 3 times a week will give the body required activity it needs to help burn stored fat

the answer is in the post immediately above yours. no such thing as spot reduction, and if you cared enough, you would've tried a bit of research (googling isn't very hard) and you would've gotten your answers much sooner.

you provide no explanation to these claims and instruction. you're just telling me to do weight training. you're nothing but a blabber without any analysis whatsoever. and, i dont expect to recieve a non-analytical answers from you. that's just rude, senseless, and disrespectful of you.

he was being nice.. most people would just laugh at you for asking if there is a way to make your bones bigger... depending on your age will your bones grow more... by doing weight training you give off the image of being bigger... it's a forum you asked a question he gave you an answer he respected your question with an answer.. now its rude if people don't reply at all or call you out as i am doing now

Hey guys

I'm really trying to lose weight and tone up. This is my info...

I'm about 5'3 and I weigh 125 (i recently lost 5 lbs i was 130 yay! lol). And well I'm still trying to lose weight, I want to get down to about 110. And I want to be toned and slim. I really wanna work on my legs, arms, and abs. I really want a waist. It seems like all my fat goes there and it looks like i have no curves.

I currently work out after work. I normally run/jog/walk and do the elliptical, bike, and stairmaster. And I swim and go in the jaccuzzi and sauna. (so I do this 5x a week)

I eat 3 times a day, and I try to eat healthy.

What can I do to accomplish my goal. I really want to look good especially for august cause I have an event.

I'm not sure if my workout is a good enough and if my diet is good enough. I'm pretty new at all this, for the last 18 years all i've done is eat what i wanted and the only exercise i did was walk around the mall. So what should I do workout wise and what should my diet be like?

I kno this isn't going to happen by august but i want to try my best to get as close as I could. (And then reach my goal eventually of course)

I wish I had a body like this:

thanks guys!!

yay! i liek this thread!
so im about 125-130? (not positive where im at right now) and 5'7 1/2 (GIRL)
id like to be skinny/toned.. trying to get to 120 atleast.. 115 if im really successful? and asap. perhaps within a month?
oh and im the type to either gain/lose weight quickly depending on how i eat.. and i tend to gain a lot of muscle even if i dont want to...
i have a gym membership and am trying to go 3-4 times a week.
ive always had a lot of fat on my arms and ive never been ablet o get rid of it
but recently ive gained a lot of weight on my lower stomach and obliques.. a bit on my thighs too (which is sad cus i used to never gain weight on my legs sad.gif )
so.. i do ellipses for 30 mins.. sometimes ab workouts but they seem to only work my upper abs.
and.. assisted pull-ups..
any advice on how to broaden my workout and perhaps some guidelines on diet?
thank you in advance. happy.gif

I've got some quick questions. :3

As for jogging/running, is it ok to run every other day and still see results? Or is it better to do it every day? (My regular jog/run would be between 45 minutes to an hour.)

Lastly, why is it better to do weight lifting after cardio?

Thanks in advance. ( ^ _ ^ )

k so I am 182cm and weight 69.5kg ..
I am quite tall but I have narrow shoulders and small chest frame..
no matter what I do I cant' make my shoulders wider or get a bigger chest..
any good suggestions lol
because all my life I was a slim guy and I love sports!!!
but for some reason even though I did more sports than most of my friends, they still have wider shoulders... what the hell lol
I would really appreciate it.
My goal is to gain 75 kg.
