Hahaha..

If you want a more comprehensive plan that is doable at your state... I recommend dialing your diet in better. The more effective your nutrition, the more effective any work you do will be ~ Along with getting consistent sleep. You could just walk on a treadmill every morning at speed 3-4 on a empty stomach for 30 minutes, 20 minutes stairmaster and 10 minutes faster running? smile.gif Is that more doable? Just a random idea should work fine.. It is hard to give you anything solid without having a idea of what you are capable of. Your level of commitment, desire, willingness to learn, and apply, how open your mind is to digesting new information ~ smile.gif

Read through this thread on eating to lose weight, and you can checkout other cardio alternatives or make a specific post asking for recommendations on cardio.

Msg me if you are unable to find useful help.

hahahaha
thats wayyy more doable (:
thanks so much for the help!
hopefully this will help me
cause my butt has been annoying me very much
even though people may like it.. i don't.. rofl

Hello,
I was wondering if you knew a specific exercise or any other way
to lose some weight on the upper arm.

As a girl, I'm not satisfied with my body b/c my upper arms
are so fat. No matter how much I run and do some basic
weight training, I can't seem to lose the fat on my arms.

Please help me!!!
Thank you.

Hey i hope someone can help me with this one!
So i gained about 10lbs since last year sad.gif And i really want to work it off, especially my arms because they look pretty chubby!

In order to make them skinnier and toned, is it best to lose weight first by cardio, and then tone them up? OR do i have to tone them up and lose weight at the same time?

I naturally have big arms/shoulders, and i just dont want them to appear bigger....

THanks for the advice biggrin.gif

I'm a guy trying to get some muscle on me but I'm not exactly sure of diet. I usually work out late at night after work should I be eating after? I usually get hungry so I eat. I'm currently only 130lbs.

And about working out itself, how much cardio should i be doing?

First get a good diet going. I don't see why you can't do both cardio and weights
in the same week. Versus doing a whole phase of cardio then a whole phase of weights.
Combo them. You're not going to be able to specifically lose weight in
just the arm area. It will happen everywhere and anywhere.

If your work is physical then you should be intaking more calories. Try to eat 5-6 times a day.
Good foods high in protein and carbs. If you're trying to gain size, eat as much as you can in each sitting.
Obviously weight train. I would limit cardio to a couple times a week, short sessions. You can do
high intensity or low, doesn't really matter.

Eat, eat, eat. Eat whenever your body tells you to, there's no point in resisting your body's request for nutrients when you want it to grow!

Do cardio in moderation, and keep a mental note to use your fresh body for lifting. Do cardio after your workout or on your non lifting days.
"But when it ends and while it ends, something comes, after so much rage, persistence, obstinacy, extravagance; something entirely unexpected and touching in its mildness and goodness. With the motif passed through many vicissitudes, which takes leave and so doing becomes itself entirely leave-taking, a parting wave and call, with this D G G occurs a slight change, it experiences a small melodic expansion. After an introductory C, it puts a C sharp before the D. . .and this added C Sharp is the most moving, consolatory, pathetically reconciling thing in the world. It is like having one's hair or cheek stroked, lovingly, understandingly, like a deep and silent farewell look. . . . " (Mann: 55).

Is it possible to have someone (a trainer, fitness expert, etc) be able to look at my body, do tests, etc, and tell me exactly what i should eat, and how i should work out to guarantee results? I'm willing to do and follow instruction to the letter as long as it get's me the results.

if i want to loose weight overall, running is best right?I've already started to cut out all kinds of junk food and such but i'm still wondering if running everyday for about 30 minutes will my thighs become more muscular and bulky?i've been planning on applying for a membership at the gym to loose weight and get fit but i'm not sure which workout is best for me cause i want a more lean and thin kind of body, so i'm not sure if i should run or walk as part of my workout. besides running or walking what else can i do to loose weight at the gym and not have a muscular and bulky type of body?

20 minutes only of sprinter workouts, no long distance crap for you.

Eat as often as possible, and train as often as possible. Focus on compound movements as someone should be coming by replying to your post with more detailed information. Since you sound like a beginner weighing as much as a hot fitness model (GIRL) you probably need to work on the basics of eating a lot, and learning proper technique and form ( so you know how to prevent injury and to learn muscle contraction ). Muscle stimulation is key. Also recommend you review the whole thread of 66 pages.

You may want to note how old and how tall you are along with prior experience with any sports, the gym.. etc Along with how long have you been consistent. Taking a month off is not consistent.

you can never "guarantee" results. They could give you a guide line to follow
but you would have to follow it strictly. Most people give up before
they see any results. It takes a long time to see results. Also
not all trainers/fitness experts are good. You would have to make sure
you find a good one and stay dedicated.

You should start calorie counting and making sure that you're burning more than your maintenance and keeping a calorie deficit.
You should also slowly start working your way up to 1 hour from 30mins. Running will not make your legs bulky, however
they will look more lean and shredded. You can always give light weight training a chance, using a high rep scheme, should
keep you lean and sculpted but not bulky.

Hi there! Thank you for starting this topic ^^
I have a question if you don't mind.

I heard that yoga is one of the best ways to tone up/lose a little of weight (from some of my friend's experience).
If combined with a healthy diet,

1) What kind of yoga helps losing weight/toning up more?
2)How often should I do yoga to be toned up before November 2008?

THANKS! ^^"""
I'm so desperate to feel less flabby...

Hi, I have been attempting to gain weight for the past several yrs. For the past two years, I went from being 100lbs to 111lbs [I'm 5'3" female btw]. However, I noticed all the weight has been accumulated in my torso, even though I do squats and bicep curls as a part of my weight training exercise regimen. I have been taking protein shakes each day, but I was wondering how much whey protein should I be ingesting and should I take it in intervals? I want to gain 10 more lbs of muscle esp. in my arms and legs... any suggestions as to what weight training exercises other than squats and lounges that will give me more effective results?

I really don't understand why you are restricting yourself to only squats and curls. Unless you're only trying to build biceps and quadriceps. Arms and legs have more than just biceps and quads. If you want to add more muscle mass to your legs you should do calf raises, and leg curls/deadlifts for the hamstrings. For arms you should work on shoulders and triceps along with your bis. Protein should be approximately 1g per pound of bodymass. You may be gaining fat in the stomach region because of a not so healthy diet or alcohol consumption. From what i've read, fat often goes to the stomach first so make sure you have a decent diet to go along with your exercise regimen. I would highly recommend doing a more full range workout instead of limiting yourself to just legs and biceps. Good luck and train hard.

This thread has some really good stuff =)

I also have some things I'd like to know:

So I'm trying to tone up, lose some fat, and generally have a healthier lifestyle. I get tired a lot and end up taking naps and then sleeping early but still have very little energy. I also find myself being unable to focus, and my dad says it's because I never exercise. The problem is that I'm lazy and have no motivation. I have an..elliptical machine but I can never do it for more than 20 min. and sometimes I randomly do Turbo jam.

My diet is ok I think, i snack and eat junk food sometimes but not excessively. I do eat a lot, my family is big on full 3 meals everyday.

So I'd like to know if there are any other types of cardio I can do at home. I'm aware that ultimately it's up to myself to work out but any advice would be helpful.

thanks in advance!

Jnn

You can always do jumping jacks/ride your bike outside/traditional running/jump rope at home.
Also about the sleeping thing, do you snore? also do you randomly wake up a lot during the night?
If so you might have sleep apnea which could explain why you're tired. If the 3 meals thing is doing
well for you then I would just continue it and not eat junk foods. This will help you tone up.

To my knowledge
1. Strengthening and stretching of the muscles.
Not going to get you big, but good for keeping decently
toned for women.

2. Cardiovascular activity. You can figure that one out. Basically
helps eliminate toxins in the body and gets the heart working
and blood pumping while burning calories.

3. Depending on the type, a cardiovascular activity,
which could have some strength benefits
depending on what you do. Ex. A lot of
male dancers pick up/toss their partners around.

These are just my opinions, feel free to agree/disagree.
