The nausea is from overworking yourself. It's because your body is not accustomed to the
sudden physical stress you put on it. Just keep at it and it will only get better.
Whenever you're in there just keep pushing yourself and also eat a meal with some carbs
and a bit of protein before you exercise. The biggest factor in losing weight is
your diet. You need to filter out all the junky foods out of your diet if you want to lose weight.
You have to eat whole foods and be timely.

what kind of meal would you suggest? like a sandwich? also, is jump roping a good alternative to running? i was thinking about switching off every other day.

haha sorry for all the questions.

rest time = time between workouts?

cuz i've been out for 3 days now due to soreness (result of starting new workout). are my gains slipping away? =/

Rest time = time between each set. No your gains are not slipping away. What gains can you make
or lose in 3 days? lol.

i was going to read through this thread until i realized it was 93 pages long.
so i was just wondering, my goal weight is around 20 lbs away and i'm hosting an event in 40 days.
is it realistic to lose 20 lbs in 40 days?
if yes, what would you suggest?

Hey it's not a problem. I would ballpark around 10lbs give or take a couple pounds. I doubt 20 is possible,
in a healthy fashion anyways unless you're like obese. People with a large body mass typically lose more at a time
than people who are smaller. If you get a good diet going on and stick to it like it's going outta style, then you should
be able to get 10 at least.

Skipping is a good alternative to running. Nothing wrong with switching it up.
Proteins = lean meats, or fish.
Carbs = Complex like whole grain breads, pastas, rice etc.
Simple like bananas, potatoes and etc.
I would avoid simple unless it's right before or right after a workout.
Generally stick to complex most of the time.

Anywhere from 1-2 mins for muscle stamina and more of a cardio session to lose weight. If your just going for strength and power 4-5 min rest periods. Enough time to get your heart rate back down, and full muscle stamina back. Typically its personal preference though.

just a quick question, if one is using protein (mass muscle gainer) powder and does not do enough muscle work out does it make u just gain weight and u gain more fat? or does it not do anything.

Im still going to gym everyday for 2-3 hours , but if i do stop in the future i just want to know what happens when still taking protein powder

Nothing would happen other than wasting money. It would be like you eating a big juicy steak for dinner everyday and not working out. Mmmm big juicy steak. Anyways, yeah if decide to quit working out, I wouldn't bother taking protein shakes. On the other hand, if your just taking a few weeks break and getting back into it. I would RECOMMEND taking shakes to retain as much muscle possible while your not working out.

If anything, you're in the gym 2-3 hours you're probably burning off a ton of the protein through using it for energy
as opposed to using it for muscle building. You need to make your workouts more efficient and get in and out. Although you might like being a gym rat, you should realize it's counter-productive. Most of those mass gainers through garbage into their powders and cheap protein. So yea you'll probably gain fat off of them. You'd be much better off just eating whole foods and taking a decent protein powder post work-out. Up to you though.

I can suggest that you fix your diet smile.gif. You're obviously not eating properly if you're doing 45mins of cardio everyday
and not losing a single pound weekly. You should be losing 1-2lbs a week if you're doing a lot of cardio combined with a
good diet. So make sure your diet is in check aka healthy foods in small portions throughout the day creating a 300-500 calorie
deficit from your maintenance.

Stats
5'11
17 y/o male
Vietnamese/Chinese
125lbs
12% bodyfat (my metabolism is fast >.>)

I want to start building muscle mass, especially in the arms. I barely have any weights, and my diet is average. How do you suggest i start training o.O, for the past week i've been doing curls, skull crushers, and butterflys using a makeshift 20lb weight.

Also, what type of weight set should i get for basic training. (An all in one package? [similar to boxflex, with resistance or weights etc], a set of dumbells and barbell)

my friend recommended that i just have a 45lb set of dumbells and i would be good

Were you given any drugs to knock you out or any laughing gas? If so, I would wait a couple days.
Also if you're taking medications for it, I would wait till those are done. If it was just a simple pull,
no medication, and you're feeling fine then I would go lift.

lol you think you're gonna lose all your stomach fat in a matter of 10 days?
The stomach is pretty much the first place fat goes. If you want to start exercising,
start running, biking, skipping, or swimming 4 times a week. Start at like let's say 15mins,
then work your way up to an hour. Once you hit the hour just keep increasing speed and
resistance.

It wont ruin your diet per say. However, you do need to exercise self-control.
If you ate anything that wasn't as healthy and pigged out you'd be at a big caloric surplus.
What you should do is eat till you're CONTENT at every meal. Not till you're full or stuffed.
Just so you don't have the desire to pig out. You can have a cheat meal once a week, so if there's
anything you really love, you can pig out on it but you have to be good for the rest of the week.
This way your diet and results wont suffer.

Equipment I would suggest? The best equipment you could ever invest in would be a gym pass.
Aside from that, I would invest in an adjustable set of dumbells, and a flat bench press, also an olympic bar.
If you can, it would also be wise to get a squat rack. With these you can do most of the big movements.
Bowflex is garbage if you're trying to put on mass.

No. Most fruits contain a large amount of carbohydrates. When carbs are not used
and there is an excess of them, your body stores them as fat. That being said, most people
go to bed rather soon after dinner. This is why.

You have to condition your body again. When you take a long hiatus from exercising, do you think your
body can jump right back on it? lol. We're not robots. You need to work back into it. Just start
slow and keep increasing gradually. Nothing is "wrong". You obviously just took time off and your
body needs to readjust to the strain you're putting on it.

Alright what I do for breakfast regardless if i'm working out right after it or not is
8 eggs, 2 whole, 6 whites, scrambled. I have that with a bowl of oatmeal. Now you obviously don't need
to eat that much but that gives you an idea of what you should eat. After a workout I eat any meat I have,
so chicken, beef or pork, grilled usually. I have that with either rice or pasta and steamed veggies.
Now with the bfast it wouldn't be a bad idea to throw in a piece of fruit or something. Hope that helped.
If you have anymore questions feel free to ask.
