Is a mile enough?
Everyday I'd usually go out and walk two laps, jog two laps. Is it enough to lose weight, or maybe maintain my weight? (I usually tell myself it's better than nothing, because I'm normally being lazy and doing something online.)
I've noticed when people say they "jog" it's usually an hour -- but I can't do that. I have homework to do, etc.
I'm also scared of being kidnapped or raped, whatnot. Creeps might notice my routine. My dad threw away out our treadmill and I can't afford a gym membership.
We also have an hour of P.E. on weekdays, does that count?
What do you guys think?
Are there any exercise routines anyone can suggest? (Anything's fine, ignore my 'stalker' concern.)
How about jump rope? I'm considering buying one.
Any diet tips regarding my situation? (People usually say soda's the problem, but I quit soda a long time ago. and for the most part I only drink water) And I don't poop everyday. It's bad, I know. I try . What're foods with fiber?
I'm 4'9 and 100 pounds if that matters. Apparently that's average weight and I look fine, but I know for a fact I can be healthier. I don't have a flat stomach either. I'm use to being petite and the skinniest of my family, but my metabolism isn't the same and I gained 18 pounds since last year.
If I lost weight, would that be bad? I mean, I'm not trying to be underweight. Just weigh the minimum amount to be in average BMI range? How many pounds do you consider I lose, and how long do you assume it'll take me?
Any kind of advice, any bit of information you know is REALLY appreciated! ^^

Please refer to the previous post #2045 where I detailed what to eat and how many times to eat a day
to gummi. Regarding the exercise, if you're not pushing yourself and just taking it easy, it's not
enough to lose weight. If you're just trying to maintain it could be enough depending on your diet.
Foods with fiber are fruits and vegetables along with whole grains.

Try to get your friends together and play some sports. More importantly fix your diet first.

@ a 100 lbs if you lost weight you'd look like garbage ~ anorexia would be the first thing to pop up in the mind of anyone else.
you should be focusing on gaining leaning muscle mass reasonably speaking a beginner maybe AT BEST. If you push yourself hard enough maybe. just maybe we could add 5 lbs of good muscle mass in the next 6 months, the internet is a poor substitute for live in person on the spot step by step training
But suffice it to say the real answer would be for you to cut body-fat, ignore the dumb bmi crap, that is for sheep ~ Cut body-fat % and gain lean muscle tissue weight that will tighten up your body. Don't be deluded by soompi posters - most are still redefining their truths and not at the stage where they can accept reality. There are more posts about fad magick diets on soompi then there are about people trying to be healthier. None of them really want to make lasting changes. They just want a miracle for the next month.
A Mile could be good enough, but could you do sprint sessions for a mile? If so here is a mile of sprinters training.
Every long stage of the lap you sprint, the corners and curves you jog. That is a mile but.. that wouldn't even qualify @ the high school track and field athlete stage. A sprinter would do at least 2 miles - there you go
The trick is to push yourself harder then you have ever pushed yourself. Only then will you be able to find your personal limits and know that is what you need to break ( those limits ) to transcend the you now and find the more stronger powerful empowered you that can conquer any obstacle.
But do you really want to know what is on the other side of the rainbow!
eating habits ~
Protein - building blocks of the body ~ grilled baked or steamed that is the trick or powder format.
Vegetables steamed boiled grilled light frying on healthy oils.
Carbs @ breakfast or after intense training ~ ( fast carbs, simple carbohydrates, more info google, *examples - white rice, gatorade and other energy drinks like powerade )
@ any other time choose to go with complex carbohydrates such as quinoa, brown rice, oatmeal, pineapple, melons, cantaloupe etc ~ google complex carbohydrates to find more examples if need be.
eat 4-6 times a day ~ a beginner would be advocated 4 meals only because it is expected that a beginner doesn't have the commitment to eat more then 4 times a day ~ breaking out of the 3 times a meal complex is the first step.

1. i heard your not supose to eat before you workout, but i've also heard people say your suppose to eat before you workout so you don't feel hungry and eat like a starving pig afterwards. When can i eat ?
2. i don't want to get buff. i was wondering, are there any workouts that target specifically the tummy, the thighs, and the waist? Is it true, running targets all? if yes, are there any indoor activities besides jogging? will badminton, jump roping, or biking help? what is the most effective?
3. does tea, yogurt, those protein bars help? i eat alot of veges already cause i love veges!!! VEGES ROCK!!!!!! i want a vege burger!!!!!
4. how long should i excercise? how long must i stretch?
p.s. i want to loose 1 inch (or at 1 size down) in jeans.
thank you so muchhh!!!!

Before you read anything else.. I have no idea who taught you or whom misled you but I want you to tell them they are full of sht! okay?
Now let us begin ~
1. You have too many differing opinions ~ trust the hotties that look good shirtless/naked/bathing suit - the rest can kiss your ass. Eating a little bit of protein and a little carbs prior to training is fine.
When can you eat ? Every 2-3-4 hours ~ It really depends on you ~
What should you eat 20-30 grams of protein + vegetables
* steamed grilled boil or healthy frying though pam is a great invention
2. If you ever want to be taken seriously by someone educated in training nutrition and exercise - don't say " I don't want to get buff " hopefully your a girl stating this comment but females naturally have LOW TESTOSTERONE ~
Reread - IF YOU ARE A GIRL YOUR TEST LEVELS ARE NOT A GUYS ~ but if you have a hairy back and chest ~ um good luck.
* WHAT DOES THAT MEAN : it means it is FRICKING HARD for you to get buff ~ and even if it seemed you were getting buff it would be due to your CARBOHYDRATE INTAKE - the average person is misled by the fat % on someone that works out a little. I see plenty of FAT people that the average person thinks is strong ~ I see them at the gym all the time - they aren't necessarily strong as much as FAT. I've seen 135lb chinese guys that look 160lb with insane bodies that girls would love.
* SPOT REDUCTION IS A MYTH - NEVER EVER ASK AGAIN.
* Running is a total body exercise with the main focus being cardiovascular ( lungs heart etc ) Running is a method 2 burn calories right now.
Indoor activities ~ millions - you can do jumping jacks under a roof, run in place, mountain climbers, LAUGH?, sex, give massages to your parents, sing, dance, bootyshake for youtube, build a pyramid with chopsticks and glue -
* the most effective exercise is the one where you throw your entire being into it and everyday you seek to LEVEL up! advance yourself and perform better, more intensely with more gusto passion and heart. For some it is with more desperation!
* The most effective method? Weight-Training + cardiovascular intensity ( sprint cycles, Hiit ( high intensity training ), jumping back and forth between your MAX and the run/jog (whatever you think running and jogging is ~ that is your 50%) max is where you are like this is my best ( FOR NOW ).
3. yes ~ but with your eating it really depends on your goals, what your body-fat% is, your current fitness and health levels, what kind of fitness level and physique you are looking for. Case in point ~ there are girls on soompi that want to look like the anorexic dying skeleton of Nicole Richie
4. How long should you exercise ~ that is up to you.
I can teach a person to die in 15 minutes ~ You can get a damn good cardio workout in 5-10 minutes if you'd like but it depends on what YOU WANT from the training. What are you looking for? In the next month - 3 months - 6 months - year? What do you want for your life ~ how much do you want to enjoy? What is your definition of the perfect quality of life, standard of living? How comfortable do you want to be in your body? To answer your question more simply ~ as long as you want
5. 1 inch is simple ~
Cardio 3-6 times a week ( you decide )
Cut out junk food ~ cook everything as I stated earlier ( eat at least 4 time a day, but for most people 6+ times a day )
Lift some weights and target bodyparts you want to enhance.
*example ~ inner thighs, hour glass figure and lateral shoulder raises(side raises), your butt?, perkier tits? maybe your calves look like chopstics or your legs don't carry the enhanced illusion of height ~
PSS ~ you can eat like a cambodian war refugee or a Somali desert guardian of the waterholes BUT remember
Most important meals ~ breakfast & after a damn good workout ( so make every workout worth doing!!! )
Rank your eating by this ~
1. Protein
2. Vegetables
3. Carbs breakfast if any and YES CARBS after hard workouts ~ please read my posts on this page and the last 10 pages
100324234234. Maybe carbs ?

I also read that certain foods that we eat prevents us from getting rid of the fat on the stomach area.
Last of all, I want to workout so that I won't be so tired all the time. Got an ideas?
It's hard for me to do workout videos in my apartment because it's really small. I don't like doing the same exact routine every time either.

Is it alright to PM you or something?
But okay, for the most part (if it's cool with you, I'll write the little details on the PM):
I've got some pretty fragile health. I get sick pretty often, and it takes me the time for mankind to evolve to get over being sick. Really uncool.
I generally eat fairly healthy though. (alright minus today, since it's V-Day /Singles Awareness Day/ Let's shove chocolates down our throat until we puke hershey's kisses Day) Mostly I eat Korean homemade food. (But I cut down on rice because it's high in calories and etc)
Unlike other people though, I really do enjoy exercise and I do Yoga, jogging and a good amount of walking. I also have a Modern Dance class, (I didn't want to take it, but it's beneficial) which has made me a lot smaller (in a good way) I also like weight lifting.
But I somehow got some weird genetics making me bulk up FAST. To me, it's cool to look all toned and fit, but if I end up looking like the incredible hulk, uuuhhh not so much. That and I like looking at a scale and seeing some smaller digits, (but muscles weigh more than fat, right?) so I'm in a stupid pickle. (yeah I know it's supposed to be pretty/tight pickle, but that sounds just weird to me)
I wouldn't mind being just slim...
or just being full of lean muscles. (lean muscles are more efficient I heard)
it's not going too well right now. (it's this on and off luck of the draw type thing it feels like.)
Thanks in advance!

don't worry about gaining weight in the off-season. as long as most of it is muscle and you've gotten stronger & quicker that's all that matters. work out hard 2-4 days a week, fit in plyometrics in your off-days, and do olympic lifts (explosive lifts like cleans, push press, hang cleans, high pulls, etc.). oh and try to do as many sport specific exercises as possible.

Cut out all the KRAM/soppa junk. You realize it's not helping your diet yet you can't control yourself?
Get dedicated and stop eating it. Also read what I wrote regarding what to eat and stuff
in my previous posts. Eating at night doesn't matter as long as you're staying within
your allotted caloric intake for the day and also if you're not loading up on carbs at night.
That Turbo Jam is not a bad idea. It works for some.
Well if you train your abs without using weights and stuff it shouldn't really build up that much unless
you have that much body mass. I would suggest doing it after for you personally because you just
want to use it to burn more calories. Always do the things that require the most energy before doing smaller things.
I have read nothing about certain foods that prevent stomach fat. That's just me however. If anyone else has
and has some scientific research to back it up then by all means go ahead and correct me on this.
Being tired has more to do with your sleeping habits and eating habits than training. If your body lacks
essential vitamins and nutrients or sufficient sleep you will feel tired. What I suggest is get 8 hours of sleep
a day and throw a multivitamin into your diet and also fix your diet so you're eating healthy whole foods and not junk.
If this doesn't help within a few weeks you may want to check if you have a sleeping disorder of sorts.
Hey man, sounds like you just want more power. Gaining muscle mass would put you up to a new weight class
and you wouldn't be able to cut down for your tournaments or whatever properly. I'd suggest just starting to do
powerlifts. Search up Madcow's 5x5 or Rippetoe's and just follow those programs. They should give you a good
amount of power for when you start the next season. I don't think you need more muscle as you've already
found your weight class. If you want to move up to a different weight class then that's different. However, if you want
to stick to this one, I could see you benefiting from a lot more power.
Is it alright to PM you or something?
But okay, for the most part (if it's cool with you, I'll write the little details on the PM):

I am 100% sure you do not even look close to the hulk as that takes tons of time, strict dieting, and strict lifting regimens.
If you don't want to look any bigger I suggest you lift only using high rep ranges just for the more toned look and also
because it burns more calories. A body composed of muscle > Body composed of fat because it functions better, allows your
organs to function better and allows you to have a better quality of life, simply put. I don't exactly understand what you're asking
but it sounds like you want to lose weight and tone up. Cardio and diet along with high rep lifting should do it. If you want details
on cardio and dieting they are in the last few pages so please reread.
Thanks
Sweet potatoes much like any carbs should be controlled. It's not something that's "bad" for you per say.
It's just something that you shouldn't eat an excess of if you're trying to maintain/lose weight. It doesn't have "fat calories".
It is just another carbohydrate.
Will jump roping replace my fat with muscles and make me slimmer or make me bulky? I just want to get leaner not a muscular, please help!
It will help you burn fat. I don't know about replacing muscle. That depends on your definition of muscle gain. Most girls on
this website will gain maybe half an inch of muscle and scream that they look like the Hulk. It will maybe put a little bit on you
but for the majority of it, it should help you burn fat. This providing that you're on a good diet.
