p.s: i was wondering... if i loose weight will my face go slimmer and look more like an oval? because i hate my face shape its looks kinda ewww.

I already have two packs (not the firm ones, but it's there smile.gif and a toned stomach, but I can't seem to get rid of the flab on my lower stomach. I'm doing 2-3 sets of 50 sit ups everyday but the fat in my lower stomach is just too stubborn to burn!

Should I be doing something else other than sit ups and crunches? Please help!

Yes you should be incorporating cardio into your workout. You don't burn fat on your stomache by doing a bunch of crunches and sit ups. Your body decides where it burns fat; not you.

I've been lifting some dumbbells that are 8lbs 3-4 times a week at least 30minutes.
Does it make a difference between a 5lbs-8lbs weights? Does it help with working the abdomen muscles or not?

I'm 5'3.5" and 112lbs. I've been working out 5x/week with turbo jam for half an hour a day for almost two months. I only lost 2 lbs but I dropped a pant size. What exercises can i do to be SKINNY with little muscle?

The rules I go by...

1. Eat 6 Meals a Day. (For me, I only eat 3 meals a day) Total Calorie is around 2000 - 2500 a day.
2. I don't eat after 8pm.
3. No Fast Food & Sodas.
4. Workout 6 day a week. (Depending on your schedule) for 1 hour.

*If you want to lose weight, You got to eat right!

Depends , you want to lose weight but gain muscle?
Well , if you want to lose fat and keep muscle the best thing to do
is try and get about 100 grams of protein a day through clean meats such as chicken , fish or turkey .
Eat a moderate a mount of carbs and try to get them during the beginning of your day .
Don't skip the veggies as your body needs the vitamins and minerals.

Do cardio for at least 30 minutes a day and switch between interval training such as starting off by sprinting
hard for 30 seconds slow down to a moderate jogg for a minute and repeat for about 10-15 min .
Exercise at least 5 times a week . For your muscles do basic push ups ,crunches and squats to keep them strong and stretch .

As for your diet , spread them out , 6 meals a day . Smaller meals to keep the metabolism up .
Drink water , tons of water. Drink a gallon a day if you can .
Believe me , drinking water and peeing so much helps out the metabolism and pushes out the unnecessary things from your body much faster .

There's just an example of things you can do , hope that helps~

is this over working ?
if during the day i lift weights lets say i work on my biceps ( like i did today ) and swam 10 laps after butterfly, brest, freestyle
then drink a protein shake
then during the night
go on the elpitical for 45 mintues or so .

then in the morning go on the eliptical again the next day .

honestly unless you're a college/professional athlete or something near that, i don't think overworking the body applies to anyone on soompi.
if you think you can do another set of reps or another 30 minutes of swimming, pick up the iron and hit that s@!t lol!

and don't just work on the biceps buddy,
you gotta work out the biggest muscle groups in your body (from largest to smallest) legs, back, chest/abs, shoulders

of course you might want to throw in a rest day(s) for your muscles to recoup.

General questions I've been curious about.

A lot of people claim that you shouldn't be eating after 6, when I've heard other people say that's not necessarily true. The general rule is that you shouldn't eat 3-4 hours before you sleep? Can anyone give me some more background and verification on these claims?

What's supposedly better... eating after you run or before? I heard that if you eat immediately after you work out, that you burn it off lot faster and it turns to muscle more easily. This would be for running around dinner time.

As for losing weight goes, I heard it's better to do short bursts of sprints with equally short breaks in between. What's your stance on that?

hey guys, i'm trying to slim down my legs WITHOUT building muscle, what exercises would you recommend?
and does doing squats build leg muscles? i know toe raises does cause my friend's sister did them for a month and her leg muscles got crazy huge.

You cannot spot reduce fat loss, excercises like ab crunches do not make you lose ab fat smile.gif

You will need to lose it all over to lose leg fat through diet and cardio vascular activities. Gaining muscle is down to resistance training using heavy weight in the 9-12 rep range while eating a surpluss of calories, you will be doing the opposite you will not gain muscle.

Sooo my family keeps saying I got fat. =X

Height: 5'4"-ish
Weight- around 117 the last time I checked. =X

I don't think I got fat but my grandma's worried I'm gonna get obese.

Then again, last summer I was 5'3" and 112.
