But for 3 weeks now I've been doing every evening at 9 (while watching the news
240 times jumping ropes (10more everyday)
Then I strech my legs (calves and thighs), arms and shoulders, try doing the splits and do that butterflysit of what it's called
and then I do this excercise where you like jump around and do different stuff with your legs...(it's so hard to explain >.<)
and then I do two times 20 girlpushups, 10 normal push ups, two times 20 crunches (trying to increase)
and then I do all that streching again...
Is that ok? Or am I going to look like a guy
I'm statiesfied with my weight but I want to grow some more like 4 or 5 cm but I know that I already had a growing period and didn't grow now for 7months. I've started drinking a glass of milk every morning and evening. Will I get to my desired height or not and is it ok doing all this stuff I listed above?
V Thank you for the answer

i'm not really certain who answers questions in here, i'm assuming the original guy bailed out due to massive amounts of ppl, so i'll try my best to answer your question
will you bulk up? no. to bulk up you'd have to do roughly... and this is an estimate btw.... 30x your workload. then you'd be in the danger zone of bulking up.
in terms of growing... milk won't help >_> growth is dependent on genetics, milk won't stimulate your dna to make you grow taller. if you'll grow in the future, you'll grow it regardless of what you're eating or drinking. only way you'll NOT grow is to be malnutritioned (apparently that's not a word). to be in malnutrition.
yeah, i think you're fine. working out is better than NOT working out.

V Thank you for the answer
No you won't look like a guy, even if you did 30x the work you do now you still wouldn't look like a guy.
You could grow for a few more years if you made sure to include protein in every meal at least 3-4-5 times a day! it can be as simple as a handful of nuts or a few boiled eggs ~ simply put the more often you eat the faster your natural metabolism paired with exercise.
I am mainly responding chiefly to dispel genetic misconceptions. Genetics are like a rough tree of possibilities and only 5-10% of people in the world come close to realizing their genetic potential and thats the point where drug usage is utilized to break the barrier. You see this in professional athletes .. etc .... think olympians caught in drug scandals, etc. You more or less will never find a good enough reason to max out your genetic potential because your rather young to religiously eat and train and rest toward that goal 365 days a year for 5-10-15 .. etc years.
You want to grow? eat lots of chicken eggs turkey throw in some red meat, pork, sashimi, shrimp, seafood etc - every meal - or nuts, soy protein, etc protein. 3-5+ times a day.
What else? Sleep 7-8+ hours a day on the REGULAR. 24/7
Avoid soda, sugary foods, drug usage, alcohol, etc - for at least the next 2-3 years. drugs are bad tho!
What else? Throw in 2-3 times a week of sprints * 15-20 minutes of sprint/jogs right outside your home on the sidewalk .. example 6-10 seconds slow down stop jog back to starting point - repeat. if you are easily fatigued walk back slowly instead.
do at least bodyweight squats, and all the lunges in the online videos.
* 20-30 minutes - grab some light dumbbells or hold a watermelon and do squats at home.
Why? Natural Growth Hormonesssss ~ get to it!
I will now quickly pull myself out of this thread.
- this will help you grow if you do them
* oh and go ahead and drink a glass or two of milk a day if you like - milk has protein.
Remember to eat your vegetables! throw in an apple a day and/or also a banana or two - and just throw yourself into your exercise with the limited time that you do spend on it.

I'm Korean so everyday all of my 3meals consist of Rice, black beans, bean sprouts, kimchi and seaweed. I could addionally eat zuccini and anchovy and aubergine but I don't really like the later 3 so I don't eat them, even if they are on the table
I sleep from about 10pm till 6.30am (damn my school's so far away xD) so I guess that's ok.
V Hmmm I've never been the eat-a-lot-of-meat-type so that's why when I cut myself and this brown hard thingy forms on top it doesn't go away even after weeks? Guess I need to eat more meat dang lol...Anyway eating some meat in one meal a day is ok right?
But I've never experienced any problems with my brain o.o;; I think I rather did better than some people who eat some meat. Thanks for the reply

just as long as regardless of your reply & any others (including mine) you realize.
Your body will only use PROTEIN TO GROW, REBUILD, REPAIR, RENEW - your body etc.
... notttttt rabbit food ... or carbEEZYIES aka carbohydrates.
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/1383143
Just be aware that the lack of protein in your diet can lead to issues with your brain, academics, body etc
* especially since your still developing!
... since I don't believe anyone is going to visit a bunch of medical sites I'll just clip out a few quotes...
- lack of protein and or energy sources - can delay or stunt growth during puberty
- lack of protein can influence dendrites within the brain, less synaptic responses : this all can impact academics, learning, speech, cognition, blah blah - serious stuff
MORE FUN FACTS!
http://coolnurse.e-healthsource.com/?p=news1&id=523720
* now if you can correlate the importance of infant nutrition + powder milk/breast milk ->>> thennn!
* correlate how KisS-1 re-activates more growth stages during puberty - and how important nutrition is
* then potential is based on firing off more hormones and feeding the body the building blocks to growwwWwwW
DONT SUFFER FROM PEM!
Have a wonderful life!

but i really want to start jogging in the morning. The thing is, I'm a high school student that's a girl, and I get paranoid when i'm by myself in the dark... I *try* to wake up around 5:30 to get ready for my bus at 6:45 (i know i know, i take a long time D:) So if I want to get a decent exercise time, I need to wake up around 4:50...But, it's super dark out...And then when I run, i get really scared that someone is chasing after me and is going to kill me (even though i live in a safe neighborhood) then I start seeing shadows and really freak the hell out. And the trail I want to run on doesn't have any lights i believe. And why can't I run with someone?? Sister is at college that's 3 hours away, and parents are still sleeping and need their rest. Hm I guess I could run with my dog...
How can I get rid of this fear??

i eat..3-4 meals a day, with some light snacks
i work out at a gym 1-2 times a week,
i also do a bit of MMA // muay thai training
and i dance too .
then i do a "mini workout" at home
20 crunches, 20 crunches with raised legs, 20 "folding" crunches, 20 side to side crunches , 20 leg raises
then rest 30 seconds
30 pushups, 30 pushups with wide arms, 30 pushups with hands in triangle, 10 handstand pushups
then do the ab again, then arm workouts .
my questions are..
1) how do i get bigger? > <
2) how do people get "8 packs?" like.. a 6 pack, then you can see a bit underneath XD
3) reall weird.. but do bananas help in growing? HAHAAH cause i eat one in the morning, and before i go to bed
4) is there any workouts that i can do at home, without machines, that would help to lose a bit of.. "flab" so 6 pack and stuff shows more?
thanks alot!

I've tried losing weight all together but it just doesn't seem to go away. Also other people who are either around my size or bigger don't seem to have this fat.
Are there any exercises you can suggest for me to help me get rid of this before December 5th ?
Thank you SOOOOO much in advance

you can buy shakes at the gym and in the health stores (powder + liquid form) they are quiet expensive... but well worth it...

You can do cardio all day long, and you will not burn much fat at all.
supplements will do NOTHING. especially supplements like fat burners, fat metabolisers.... they will do nothing if you aren't fit already.

eat less rice.
more chicken, tuna, cottage cheese, egg whites (though yolk is also good), fish, lean beef are all excellent sources of protein that will help you GROW. trust me, protein will NOT make you fat (unless you go overboard, but that's just being a dumbass). the Korean perception of "gogi mogumyun sal jjuh" is 100% false. Don't listen to your mom saying stuff like that, chances are she's saying it with ignorance (no offence to anyone).
dont avoid fats. They are good for you. like almonds, avocados, mainly nuts, etc. saturated fats aren't evil, just eat them in moderation. avoid fats found in junk food, fast food, cheese, milk, because they aren't very beneficial.
avoid high GI carbs unless post workout, high GI carbs include white rice, white bread, most sugar-rich foods, junk food, etc. low GI carbs are the way to go and even then you want to limit your carb intake (unless you're already fit). low GI carbs include brown rice, wholemeal bread, apples, etc.
avoid salad dressings as these are made of high fructose corn syrup that will make you FAT and even inhibit growth.
other things to avoid:
pizza
any fast food places
anything with too many carbs and too less protein.
intensity is key to exercises, so always during workouts, maintain intensity so that you feel TIRED AS HELL. if you're NOT tired, then you're not doing it right.
for height, just swim.

her friend said that it's because of muscle memory and now any time either of us try to workout our legs to make them slimmer, they'll actually just revert back to their high school size and be big and hard. i mean, i guess big and hard is better than soft and hard, but is this really true? cause she's sort of an evil biznatch and i don't really trust her but she started spewing all these scientific facts...hahaha
i thought muscle memory was just when you trained yourself to do something so often that you remember it without even thinking about it...

Just think of it in this instance as your body's ability to return back to a certain physical state. Fast enough strong enough in comparison to how you were before.
Kind of like say you could do 10 pullups - now you can only do 1, provided you work at it -> it will be easier and faster for you to return to 10 pullups then someone that has never done 10.
.............
It has nothing to do with the composition of your body -
That is what your putting in your mouth or not + How you exercise and treat your body!
Evaluate your eating.....
If you are worried about looking big - re-structure your diet - eat clean - keep it controlled clean and frequent! Stick to ellipticals or stair mills vs high-impact running for long periods of time.
or Switch to sprinting or other forms of cardio - like roller blading - uh.. home cardio etc
she has a clue somewhat.. - it is a tad misguided and she is applying it incorrectly.
Google search 1st try!
http://worldfitnessnetwork.com/2009/02/mus...ually-remember/
" Muscle memory? fitness "
--- muscle memory also covers acquired skills like riding a bike, etc but the element of neuro-muscular memory ~ your mind controlling the body and re-working the mapped out pathways in the brain.. blah blah ... k its too early to talk about something like this on soompi.....
