Honestly, I'd stick with Irvine. But I have my reasons. What are some of your reasons? Just to let you know, just because it is community college does not mean it's any easier. You still have to work. If I were you, I'd list out all the pros and cons of both situations, and weigh them on how important they are.

Are you kidding me? Isn't the purpose of CCs for you to transfer to UC's & CSU's?

what it do, what it do?!

What in the world are you talking about? There are tons of programs readily available to CC students who want to transfer out. TONS. It's easier for CC students to transfer into a better UC than it is for straight out of HS students. They give CC transfers priority.

But just be reminded that anything can happen in the two years before you can transfer out. City College is your last resort to attend a better college. You are also taking a risk of potentially ending up at an even less prestigious school.
If you do decide to go to City College, you can save thousands of dollars for the two years. Also, I am not sure where you live, but at CCSF they offer great programs for students who want to transfer. I believe that some U.Cs also offer guaranteed programs. It’s a contract between the student and the school, in which the student will be accepted to that U.C if the student meets the requirements.
I personally think that UCI is a great school, but if you really want to go somewhere else, then I think you should take the chance and go to City College.

This is exactly what I`m doing right now. I was accepted to UCI last semester but decided to go to a community college instead. It`s a LOT cheaper, and the community college that i`m going to has one of the best transfer programs in CA. Just make sure the IGETC becomes your best friend. It`s a lot easier to transfer from a CC to a UC than going to a UC straight out of HS, and you also get priority.
One example. I was talking to a UCI representative at my school's college fair, & he told me that all i needed was a 3.0 and a few extracurricular activities if i wanted to go to UCI.

CSU stands for california state university.
if you really want to go to a better UC, than CC would be a good choice because it's so much easier to transfer and save lots of money. good luck! =]
