Does anyone know the reason why Oedipus used Jocasta's brooch to blind himself? Was there a symbolic meaning behind it? Usually I wouldn't ask, but I'm really stuck in a slump right now.

because he killed his father and married his mother, which equals to moral blindness

Wasn't the broach what kept her eternally youthful? He could have blinded himself with that because it had made him blind to the true age and possible familial relationship between himself and his mother.
