Hello, Soompiers!

Please let me know if it is good to do an internship at one's own college. I m a junior and I have been offered an internship in my college. the pay is good/ok. and I will also get to work extra hours in the evenings. It is not a student worker job.... it's quite different... so I am nervous!
I guess this will provide a good networking opportunity for me. + I will get another INTERNSHIP label in my resume.

But I am a little hesitant... All my frens will be gone.. I will have to live in a totally different business environment. I will have to wear business attire every day! That ticks me off! I am wondering if it's worth it! Is it worth it in the long run?
Staying here in the summer, I will not be able to explore different places as much as I wanted to. By working outside of campus, i will earn more and will get to have more fun!

Please let me know if you have done this before. Suggestions are welcome ....

p.s: also, when is the best time to take GRE/GMAT? sweatingbullets.gif I was thinking right after the summer... crazy.gif
I LOVE MY XIAH JUNSU. He is my Dolphin! my dolphin's duckie butt! so HOT HOT HOT!

you should do what is good for you and your future.
even if your friends wont be there.
you are your first friend.

sounds like a good idea.
think about it, you wont be lost, you know where places are at.
you know how the school works.

it's really up to you.
but the reasons should be good ones.
helpful ones. good ones for the future.

good luck.
have fun.

well, the place i worked last time paid 10 bucks per hour. but on campus u know that it;s gonna be less than that...
outside, i can earn probably 3000 more than i would earn on campus.. let's see .. i mean money is important but... getting an internship is too. i m kinda weighin both sides. I know internship's side is heavier .... still, i just hope i wont regret it!
hasn't anyone come across this dilemma?

if you worked off campus, would the experienc you get be relevant to what you want to do? working you internship would give you experience in a field you want. and it's probably good getting used to a formal business environment, because you might be in that kind of environment later in life.
