I guess this thread is mainly for UCI students? sweatingbullets.gif

Is anyone going to go to the UCI summer Bridge program?
Has anyone been in that program in previous years?

I don't know if i should go or not.. unsure.gif

Can anyone tell me more about this program?
For those who did participate in this program, did you like it? was it necessary? did it help?
If im eligible for the federal pell grant, am I completely covered (financially) for this program?

any thoughts? comments?

thanks in advance happy.gif

No idea of what this is... lol... is this the Chemistry program? I vaguely remember someone talking about that, but I forget if it was called the Bridge program.

Ohhh...a lot of people at my school got that thing in the mail. It's sent out to low income and first generation students. I think i'm planning on going. It seems very beneficial....they pay the fees for you for dorming and food and everything there for the summer, its an estimated cost of about 3k-4k !!! Also, you get priority course registration when we choose our classes during orientation =] and we do activities with other freshmens who are in the program. I also heard that we get a free laptop o.O. But I'm not sure if that's true. It would be nice if they really do give us a free laptop. xDDD But the downside to it is that you can't go home, you have to stay there the whole time. =\ OH YEA, and we also get to dorm in the NEW DORMS, the Arroyo Vista dorms too!!! =]

^ lol freaken rosie! how do you know all this?

and anyways, the laptop thing is a rumor. but hm, i MIGHT go. however....this is our last summer before we head off to college. i sorta just want to relax and have fun. also, i was planning to get a job this summer...so if i do go to the summer program, it will prevent me from doing so. since you are not allowed to commute/or even leave campus!!

My suitemate is in the UCSD Summer Bridge program. I think it's for financially challenged students?... Anyway she pays nothing for school and she gets allowance as well as a free tablet pc and a laser jet printer (JEALOUS)
