HELLO SOOMPIERS!
Let me explain my situation first.
I had my eyes set on the iriver clix 2 for quite some time now and was waiting eagerly for its arrival in the US. My grandparents were suppose to bring me one when they came here from Korea but my mom "forgot to mention it". When i found out it was available here, I went to cnet.com to view its ratings. I was surprised that a lot of the users didn't like it as much as they thought. There was also a lot of talk about how it didn't even compete with the cowon D2. I did some more research on both mp3 players and now i've fallen in love with both of them. Unfortunately, I can't afford both so please help me choose!

both come in black and white or in cowon D2's case black and silver
both are 4 GB
i must admit that the cowon seems more high tech but the iriver is much more sleeker and pretty

if you want more info on these two mp3 players visit:

please help me choose
opinions are welcomed!

Be careful when reading those user opinions on cnet. Alot of them are cowon fanboys who haven't even touched a clix. They've been giving the clix a 1 rating way before it even came out.

Some of those reviews are dumb. If you are buying the Clix 2 then you should know it's only an upgraded version of the original clix, which can mean the looks, functions, or both.

Anyways, you decide what you want. Go to the store and experience both players yourself. By reading more user reviews will just confuse you more and won't make anything better in helping you decide between these players.

Expandable memory is good, but are you going to use it? Do you care about the looks? Does weight matter? Do you even want to use the touchscreen?

All I can suggest is that you experience the players yourself by going to stores that sell them because both are good players.

Well the clix2 isn't available in brick`n mortar places yet. You can only get them online for now. Still waiting for the 8GB.

^ I heard the 8gb was coming out this summer but I'm not sure. Can anyone verify this?

I was stuck choosing between these two players myself but I noticed how I just constantly press buttons without even looking at the screen so I ended up picking the Clix 2 since the Cowon D2 was touchscreen.

They're both really good... No matter which one you choose, I'd say it's a win-win situation. I guess if you don't really plan to use the D2 for the Korean English dictionary and the touchscreen, then the iriver clix 2.

Cowon if you want function, Clix if you want looks.

But personally i prefer Cowon, their battery life is AMAZING. I bought a A2 last year and i can still get up to 20-25 hours of music and 10 hours of video's on that thing, compared to my Ipod mini which had its battery life cut in half in the first year >.>
I have to admit Cowon's stuff are a bit bulky (i'm a girl) but they come w/ so much accessories, which more than makes up the additional price (unless cost doesn't really matter to you)

I hear the Clix2 has an amazing screen compared to a lot of the stuff on the market. I would also think that it is a whole lot more intuitive than the D2. Both are great machines but I would lean towards the Clix2.

I got my Clix 2 a couple weeks ago and I love it. It's really customizable, you can customize the wallpaper and even font. That's my favorite part of the whole mp3 player.

As for music and vids, it sounds pretty good but I heard the Cowon was better.

The only thing I wasn't into was the D-Click system (Where you push certain ends of the screen for buttons like a Nintendo paddle).

My regret, I couldn't wait so I got the 4gb. I went from a 40gb ipod to a 4gb iriver, kinda sucks. lol I suggest you wait for the 8gb.

Reality. It's so much more interesting than living happily ever after.

both look really hot.
i watched the review on cnet. and they seem to like the 2nd generation iriver clix a lot.
it looks a lot like a little TV, and isn't there an 8GB out for that one too?
i'd get the clix

Yes, just install the newest firmware and you should be able to add the dictionary. This is based from what I have read.
