About Game
RF Online is an epic mix of traditional fantasy MMOG mixed with unique futuristic sci-fi action to bring an entirely new and original take on the existing MMORPG genre. Set in a deep space galaxy known as Novus, take your pick from three all-powerful warring factions leading your character into the final battle for total control over the entire Novus galaxy. Chose from either the Bellato Union, taking control of individual robot battle units like never seen before within any MMOG, Holy Alliance Cora, the mystical and fantasy orientated race utilising the power of magic and finally the mighty Accretia Empire, a futuristic alien race intent on spreading destruction across the entire sector with their advanced weaponry systems.

This game was made by CCR Inc, the makers of Fortress 2 Blue and Fortress 3 PaeWangJun, or am I mistaken?
I played the Korean verison and it's pretty nice, though I haven't gone that far. I definitely will play the international release. I hear there will be a monthly fee. =/

Partially made by Sega? What are you smoking?

Partially does not mean completely made.
take a look for yourself

I've never tried the Korean one, but if it's similar to how Maple Story is distributed in Japan and Korea, then there could be slight differences between the versions which could be attributed to differing publishers that sometimes add in their own influences.

At first I didn't know there was going to be a monthly fee but now that there is, I'm hesitant to try it =/

no biggie. Even though the game's concept is a rarity among a sea of medieval and orient based mmorpgs and has interesting style and graphics.. I wouldn't say it's THAT special to warrant paying a monthly fee (if they ever implement it).. there's just too many other free Korean and japanese made mmorpgs out there that one could simply just move on to (Granado Espada, Ragnarok 2, among others that will be out in the near future).. doesn't hurt to d/l and try though

i dont think sega partially "made" rfonline,
CCR made the game, licensed rights to multiple companies so they could distribute the game internationally
SEGA for japan, Codemasters for NA/Europe
there's going to be some closed beta soon for the game where u can sign up on the first site i posted~ no idea if i will pay2play the game yet, but it sure looks cool.

you're right. I double checked it. Sega is the publisher for the Japanese version while CCR is the developer.

was go on it to just talk to friends that i knew iRL that were leveling up. and just pvping outside orgrimmar lol
anyways, if u dont mind the grind (i didn't mind it either, but an ASS LOAD of other people do[in similarity to lineage 2. if u ever played that)
it can be a pretty good game. mainly because it looks so cool and visual effects are so sugoiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii. !
oh btw. If u plan to go the humans in RfO, and you are hoping to be a mech... they are really weak at the high level. mainly because of their slow movement and weak damage. (and in the game its instant potting nearly, so u can't kill anything with a mech.)
just think paladin, that can't heal and has about 10x more hp and armor lol
In my opinion, the gunner->striker is awesome. although it gets a little annoying sometimes to have to deploy to attack with the launcher, it still looks.. so cool. and they are hella strong at higher level when I was playing.
