Not too good about perming but i'm pretty sure they use heat and harsh chemicals so the curls would last...

i havnt actually gotten a perm, but i plan to get a straight perm soon
for length... i would suggest medium-long
just so that there is actually a reason to spend that much money
and if its a wavy perm, they will add curlers
but if its a straight perm
they add a relaxer and then use a flat iron to make it perfectly straight

ah why would you want a straight perm? id rather have it wavy looking!!!

just bring along the pic of TOP and show ur hairstylist. thats just what ill do. plus, ask him to give a tip or two about how that hairstyle woudl suit you and how to make it look better on you.

haha
cause my hair is a bit wavy
and i straighten it everyday
to heyitzthatfc
the best way is to just take some pics of TOP with you, ones that show from all sides
and be specific when you tell them you want it to be thinned and layered like the pic
and imo i would say tell them to use a razor and not scissors
i find that a razor will give a better "asian" look

and this was after an eating contest (12 blazing hot wings in 1:26 seconds), but you can kinda see how it's layered, i put the front down and take the middle to the side and the back forwards.

and to that guy who wanted those sideburns on the first post on the last page.
i use to have those sorta, now they are just thinner, you just have to keep growing your hair out, and naturally they grow like that sorta from the middle above the ear down, the front front hair seems to grow faster than right above the ear and it eventually gets pointy like that.
i've posted this picture before but if you look

that's how they just kinda grew by themselves i just would part them more so it was more obvious and make the ends come together in that triangle shape.
but now i cut my hair and as you can see it's much much shorter but my sideburns are still there jsut not as thick. it'll get that way again in a few months and then this time i'll just keep growing my hair instead of going to some ahjumma and having her dice my hair all off.

i tried that, but he can't seem to get it right, so i end up cutting it really short and i just let it grow back out.. that's why i would like someone to explain how he got his hair like that, so i can explain it to my stylist, because i already have an idea of what it would look like on myself

Have you tried going to a different stylist?
Maybe the one you go to isn't that good. Please don't tell me he/she is one of those budget ones that are under $20 for a cut.

brown hair with black stripes? hmm that seems a bit awkwards, maybe with black hair and brown stripes?
but i am always a fan of red highlighting. haha i guess cause i highlight my hair red.
if you would have a pic that woudl be nice, i think im a bit confused about how it would look
um then i suggest that you find a new stylist
is this one asian? because being asian is better for asian styles because they know how its supposed to look in real life and dont really need a picture to style it

I'm a bit confused to. I want to dye the majority of my hair a dark brown; leaving some of the natural black. Then, I plan to add some purple or red highlights. I've never been on good terms with hair-stylists. They always screw my hair up. Its my fault because I don't give good descriptions. I'm trying to figure how to word what I want. I guess I could say what I said previous and hope for the best of luck. So any comments or advice? I wonder what the range of all this would be, probably almost two bills where I am from. >.>
