hey, to those who have used thinning shears... am I supposed to do it also in the front hair (hair that falls over the forehead)?... and hmmm... any suggestions of thinning the back without much messing up? .... oh, and, the shortest hair is about 2 inches (sides, some other hair is longer, like twice as long or more - layered - ), should I avoid thinning short hair? well, any suggestions are welcome... I got the shears and want to try them, I'm a little scared to mess up though

uhh i use thinning shears formy whole head, umm for the back.. sometimes i use another mirror or i just feel it out XD id unno how to explain it =P but if you cant do it.. maybe find someone to do it for you? XD like show them how you want it then tell them to do it XD

well you might wanna grow your hair a little longer before using thinning shears.. cuz sometimes it can make your hair look really short after thinning/layering XD it looks shorter haha
then again XD you probably wont get it on the first try.. after a couple small failures it'll be awesome XD haha

as for bangs i hold the scissors vertically and cut
when your hair is longer, i usually do 2 cuts with the thinning shears..
grab a part of hair, make a cut in the middle of the (bunch of hairs?) then one near the ends XD so that its thinner
(well thats how i do it XD others might do it differently =P)

i think my back is long enough, its just flat cause i when i tried to have the back standing up like i couldnt get it to stay up nd it looked like it was just messed up like i did w/e with it/ do u have tips on how to stand it up? tyy

uhh for me mine stands up pretty well.. and my hair is really long too XD..
what i do is straighten outwards, then i use green or purple gatsby (they both work well for me) and then i just use it to spike it out .. then i hairspray and it stays XD
if it cant really stay up well it might be too thick =P and not thinned enough XD

i have a relatively long asian hairstyle that is thinned/layered with the - for the lack of a better term - asian mullet nearly touching the ends of my neck

i would greatly appreciate it if anyone of you showed me a picture of a hairstyle that has a nicely waxed backside(that is nicely spiked) along with the asian mullet

of course, tips on techniques would be great help too!

hahaah thanks. Back then my hair was A LOT longer , but anyways the length of my hair was really thinned out and layered . as well the top of my hair was layered a lot. I used the black matte wax back then (cuz moving rubber wasnt out at the time) and teased my hair a lot then used blowdryer to life it a bit then hairspray.

he'll need some major straightening to do thats for sure. TBH though , I dont think miyavi's hair would fit your friend. Miyavi has this certain facial structure that fits his hairstyle. I just think it would look a bit funny on your friend thats all.
