Hello, I'm not sure if I should be posting here, but----
I just recently got a boy haircut but I'm having trouble styling it.
(I'm new with hair gel and all that stuff XD)

It would help if you could show us the end result you wanted. is the "after" it? You definately need more layers and i think the back is too long and thick at the top.

is it kinda out of fashion ? anyway, whats in now ?

Personally, I don't think hair can go out of fashion. if you can rock it then stick with it. if there's another style that you can rock better with, choose that.

The only thing that you might have to consider is age. you don't want to look like that in your 60s or something. if you still look like that in your mid 30s, then you're trying too hard to fit in that age group .

^ im 18 brah.. and ppl say i dont even pass for 15 but anyways, i did actally saw one guy who is like in his mid 30s with two young kids at a mall who had a cut similar to that but a little shorter.. my frens and i were couldnt stop laughing.. maybe he works as a hair stylist i dont know cause some of the veteran stylist that i know have some pretty awesome/outrageous hairdo.. and they are in there 30-40s :-)

i like the first pic better than the 2nd pic (even though they're probably the same hairstyle haha). IMO you should get it .. i think. cause it might look good on some guys and not so good on others. depends on your face =/ ... and dont get it too poofy?

^No, never safe to layer it yourself (assuming that you don't have much experience in cutting hair - let alone your own hair), if you have a friend who knows how to cut hair, by all means. ^^

p.s. don't forget to use hair spray to set your hair style. i.e. freeze/hold it in place.

im guessing clay has a more rougher texture to it

haha np, dont layer it urself... instead, u can style it so u fake layer it. hrmm kinda hard to explain but yea... if u make it look less flat, it'll come out good.

like someone said, this sorta cut u gotta watch your face shape.

If it's like that guy on the picture then it's fine due to the fact that he has the sharper jawline. However, if u have a rounder/chubbier cheeks then u might want to reconsider or add longer sides/sideburns to lower the emphasis on your rounder lower half?
