Question, when you go to a salon and ask them to layer it and thin it, do you need to be specific with it(layer length?) or is it more of a general thing?
umm yeah you probably have to so they know .... its probably best to bring a picture or something XD
i dont go to salons so thats just waht i think you should do for the best results =P
I am curious about this too, going to get my hair thinned/layered for the first time in a few days.

Oh yea, do you normally get the sideburns cut or just thinned also?
uhh sideburns i just shape mine and layer them a bit.. very little
maybe its just me but my sides arent even all that thick with no thinning at all done to them
How do you cut and style the back of your hair?
Pogi mentioned a few pages back it looks pretty naked..and i agree lol
I usually apply the gatsby air rise and then spikey edge, and generally teasing it up. But after maybe 5 minutes it just goes flat again. I am thinking its the way my hair is cut, and maybe not thinned out enough?
Is the back of your hair supposed to be thinned out?
really? i havent thinned my hair in a while so its getting pretty thick.. but i can still get a crazy spikey head (if i wanted to ) i use purple gatsby tho (straightening before helps)
but yeah its easier if its thinned out more =P haha and layered
Absolutely. Pay some cash for a real stylist.
I would suggest to never cut your own hair or thin/layer it. you'll get to your hair goal faster without any roadblocks/accidental damages/bad hair for a few months.
XD mehh after i started to cut my own hair and got good at it (for about a few months it was horrible) i love cutting my own hair now lol .. saves so much money.. and now i dont even let anyone else cut it XD (my aunt is an awesome stylist and i can get haircuts for free XD)
