Honestly, it doesn't matter, as people's hair grows at different speeds and people's hair is different. It's difficult to gauge a precise time.

People should be more focused on getting their hair to what they want, no matter how long it takes without always being impatient.

i suggest this type of hair style for you.

Oh, Xiah right? do you have any other views (front/back) of those styles? Do I just show them pictures or how should I explain how to cut it? Does anyone else have suggestions for me?

how do you get that texture in his hair?
[the wax, a certain shampoo/conditioner?]
so smooth and shiny~

its only shiny because of the lighting in that photo.
and its not that smooth at all, theres actually alot of hairspray used. he's obviously had his hair layered + thinned.
blow dry - the way you blow your hair is actually quite important to how you can style your hair. remember to look downwards and blowdry upwards; downwards on your bangs/fringe.
(using a comb or brush isn't stupid, if your hair is quite messy, USE a comb or brush)
straighten - i do this pretty randomly, barely even bother most of the time.

use a very very little bit of clay or gatsby moving rubber - i'd use gray - to tease out each spiky end and strands of hair. apply very very little at a time. and use only your finger tips - dont just scrunch into it.

if you're hopeless at this, then you can also use a hairspray instead of clay or moving rubber.
use something like Osis elastic - you lift each spikey hair layer and spray a bit underneath while also pushing it upwards at the root to give it a bit of volume.
(because elastic isn't anything superhard, just one quick close spray wont make it extremely hard but just hold it there for a while)

finish off using any type of super hard hairspray (gatsby superhold, osis freeze etc) over the top and around - remember 30cm!

My hair is about medium length now with front bangs.
I'm wondering, does short-er spikey hair or long hair with sweeping bangs suit me better?

Can you please show me pictures of hair styles which would suit me?

Long

Short

seems to be that shorter hair and spiky hair fits your face shape better, because it seems like your forehead is smaller then your bottom half of your face, but it can just be the camera angle. (thats me assuming your the guy in the 2nd picture)

this picture middle guy.

or first picture on this one.

the long hair make you look more boyish and younger, the shorter one would make you look more mature. i think either would should fit you fine.

From the two examples above, you would look better with bangs down. But I dont' think you should spike the top so high O_O.
It looks like you're trying to be a character from a vid game or anime

I agree, you should slim down your face too~
but yeah, no more anime hair. doesn't suit the semi formal nor your friend ^^"

i'm just wondering. are these hairstyles that we're attempting to achieve even popular in asia anymore?

from recent pictures i've been seeing in korea, i seem to come across this kind of hair rarely.

This post makes me wonder, if we are attempting to achieve these hair styles for ourselves or because its popular in Asia.

well i meant more along the lines of: alot of people on the forums want this supposedly 'fobby' hairstyle. but is it even fobby anymore? because fobby is how asian people dress NOW isn't it?

i guess i'm just arguing semantics?
